Spectator cuts the cards three times and then deals four cards to four different people then the magician reveals the names of those four cards (this method does not use marked cards).
This exotic cheat sheet requires two phishing statements but they are well disguised so as not to be obvious. My original Aronson Suitability post has the magician directly asking the names of the suits of the four cards. I think this was a bit blatant so here is a better way (I think) to talk to the four spectators: 1. ask those who have a red suit to close their eyes and concentrate then 2. ask those who have a spade or heart to raise their card near their forehead and really concentrate. By doing the above two things the spectators have now indicated the suit of all four cards but it is far less obvious than just asking them for the name of their suit. There is a small bit of mental gymnastics for the magician to determine the four suits so to eliminate these gymnastics I have supplied a special two-tiered cheat sheet in this post so the magician first looks (secretly) for the pattern of red cards and then within that group looks for the pattern of spades hearts and once the row is located the name of the first card is observed to the right on that same row on the exotic cheat sheet. Example of using this more exotic 2 pattern cheat sheet: let's say that after asking the four people to close their eyes if they have a red card you the magician see the following: spectator 1: eyes open spectator 2: eyes closed spectator 3: eyes open spectator 4: eyes closed Note that "eyes closed" means "r" for red card therefore "eyes open" means "B" for black card. Therefore in this example the magician looks at this exotic cheat sheet for the pattern "BrBr" and sees a small sub group of possibilities for the power suits of Spades Hearts ie: PiiP etc. Next the magician looks at the cards near the 4 spectators forehead for the power suits and sees the pattern: Spectator 1: card down Spectator 2: card up Spectator 3: card down Spectator 4: card down so the magician then secretly looks for iPii under the "BrBr" pattern and then sees the name of the first card to the right in this case JC (Jack of clubs). Note below is listing the 52 Aronson stack patterns using "BBBr" etc pattern then using "P" as powerful suit (Spades Hearts) and "i" as inferior suit (Diamonds Clubs). Note that the letter "i" will take up less space on the cheat sheet. The two jokers will be facing the audience when you remove them from the Aronson deck to "get them out of the way" and you just casually hold them while you're doing the trick (be sure not to expose the cheat sheet side of the two jokers to the audience). or as a test just to see if you like doing this you can cut your Aronson deck and deal four cards and simulate the actions of four spectators and openly look at the cards and use your cell phone to have this post in view to look at the exotic cheat sheet directly in this post and see if you can find the first card via this exotic cheat sheet. |
