The Vault - Shadow - Morgan Strebler
$14.95 https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=72314 The Hype: Did you ever try to move your hand so fast that, just maybe, you could leave your shadow behind? Morgan Strebler has finally cracked the shadow code to make your dreams come true! You're hanging out with a couple of people, playing with shadows...talking about the time you spent as a kid trying to "out run" your shadow. You slowly move your arm back and forth where its shadow naturally follows. You attempt to jerk your arm away for a quick get-away from your shadow... but no luck. You make one final sudden move with your arm...when THE IMPOSSIBLE HAPPENS. The arm's SHADOW stays FROZEN in ONE SPOT as your REAL ARM MOVES almost a foot away! An astonishing second or two later, your arm shadow and your real arm re-connect......where the shadow once again naturally follows the movement of your arm. Perform ANYWHERE you can cast a shadow Indoors or outdoors Day or night Wear anything you want You can even hold a borrowed object in your hand to "personalize" the frozen shadow Morgan's Shadow is elegantly accomplished by the simple yet ingenious choreography of bodies, lights and shadows. So, minor audience management skills are required. Note that Shadow is best presented as an organic "Miracle Moment" for two or three lucky people at a time. PK TOUCHES BONUS Morgan's two favorite PK Touches' routines straight from his professional performances. BLOW You blow on one spectator's hand while another person a distance away feels the same blowing sensation on their own hand. SUGAR You pour a packet of sugar onto the back of one spectator's hand while another person a distance away feels "invisible" sugar pouring onto the back of their own hand. My Take: A few years ago, Morgan's Liquid Metal DVD fried me. Now I still don't do a metal bending routine, but this is the one that I would want to do. Very creative and visual magic. With Shadow, he has come out with a very clever way to freeze your shadow (ala Peter Pan). It does require a gimmick which you already have and if you don't, this is not a trick you will be able to perform. (no, if you really must know, buy the download). Some audience management is necessary but it is not difficult. Ever get asked to do something on the spur of the moment and have nothing with you? Once you learn Shadow, you will carry it with you all the time. Watch the promo video and see if it doesn't fool you. I have seen a similar technique used by Garrett Thomas on his Ring Thing which I saw him perform at a convention. You seldom see an effect that causes a whole audience to gasp. Using a similar type of thought process, Morgan will allow you to get some gasps yourself. There are some small caveats. You do have to have the right light but that can be found outdoors or you could set up just what you need indoors. You do have to watch some angles but you are given pointers on how to handle that. To sum up, the technique on this is very simple, you already own the gimmick (at least I hope you do) and it is something you always have with you. PK Touch routines always play huge and for the low price of $14.95, you are also taught two PK routines. Each requires a small gimmick, different for each routine but the gimmicks are available pretty easily. These are also very easy. These are not full routines but would be great with a small group as a quickie. Considering the low price and the amount of tricks taught in such a short time, Morgan has delivered a nice little package. Well worth the 17 minutes you take to watch it. Recommended. |
