This is the way I've been performing my one-card routine 7 from my eBook "THE SAFWAN PAPERS'for the last couple years:
(Those that have this know no real cards are required, and in the OG instructions I detail why I think it's best there are NOT. The final "thought of" card has simply been written down on paper beforehand. Only pen & paper is required.) I stand by that thinking that no real cards should be in play before or during the selection, and there are not in this version as well. I DO feel if you carry a phone, and give this a try, you will perform it every *** chance you get. soooo....I downloaded this "Card From Phone" app for my Galaxy S22 Ultra (I'm sure there is an iPhone equivalent) and from the reactions I have been getting the last couple years or so, I will perform it like this always now! I have an Otterbox case with the rubber shell, and I keep a quarter-folded 7S (red back facing out / face on the inside) in between it and the back of the phone so I'm always ready to perform. It makes for a truly killer completely self-contained performance piece, with out needing ANYTHING else. The app version I have allows you to chose from MANY card backs, and I use a Red Bike in quarter-fold config. When the app is activated, a simple touch of the screen anywhere makes the quarter-folded card appear on the screen, back showing. You can "slide" the card around the screen, and when you bring it to the edge it vanishes completely (and appears in your hand, cause you had the REAL folded card hidden behind the back of the phone all along!) Here's my performance: I tell the spec I want to show them something with a deck of cards, but since we don't have any I hand them that imaginary brand-new sealed deck as detailed in 7. I activate the app while telling them I "made a prediction here on my phone." The folded card is already finger palmed, and then just pressed against the back of the phone. I talk them through the selection of the card as detailed, and ending with the 7S. I remind them that I made a prediction on my phone, and ask them to look at the screen and guess what app I made it on. The app allows you to just touch anywhere on the screen and the card will appear. It quite shocking to them! Also, depending what apps you have showing, you can get some fun byplay going. This is where I literally get them to jump: I let THEM touch the app "to open it" (really, anywhere they touch will work) and a *** card appears! Once that card appears on the screen (it looks SO real!), I put my thumb on it, while my remaining fingers go to the back of the phone and press the folded card against the back, in preparation too be sllid off the back and into my fingettips for an appearance. I even let them use their index finger to move this screen-card around a little, and this gets STRONG reactions (with my guidance, since if they get it too close to the edge the card will disappear prematurely.) Its at this point its almost like there is a "dual anti-climax" and I take FULL advantage of this. We had some fun getting to one imaginary card, and then the appearance of ANY playing card appearing under the screen of you phone gets SUCH strong reactions. I let this "breathe" for a few moments....That you made ANY card appear INSIDE YOUR PHONE is quite stunning. However, once that moment fades, I make a small joke about that card being theirs, just that you cant see it all folded up like that. Acting as if I forgot their card and THAT IT ALMOST DOESN'T MATTER what card the "selected" is (ala "what card were you just thinking of again...?") While saying "If only we could see the face of this card...." I slide the 'card' under the screen around in a circle with my thumb, and slide "it right off" (remember, getting it close to the edge make it disappear from your screen) while simultaneously bringing the real folded card from the back of the phone into view at you fingertips. I cannot stress enough the LITERAL "WTFs?!" I get ...it makes me SO, so happpy inside....lol! This is a strong second moment, with the first being the appearance of the folded card on/under the screen. Now the card is REAL, and THEY manifested that s***! SO now we have a folded real card in play. I reiterate the free nature of THEIR selection (after all, the cards are imaginary, so I could have played no part in the selection, right?...muhahaha.) Once they remind me what the card THEY selected is, I give them the folded card to keep. They open, and strong moment #3. If you are going to perform another effect after this bomb, you better bring your no-brakes AAA game..... The app was inexpensive ($6-ish?) and I buy full decks of 7S Red Bikes on Ebay cause I always give it away. If you don't have a place on you phone case to hide the card, simply quarter-fold a 7S, open it up so its less thick, and store in your wallet. I always keep one in mine in addition to my phone case. Its not like I get the card out of my phone case (or wallet) in front of them...I get the folded card out and in my pocket ready to be finger palmed during the card selection phase. I add it to the back of the phone when I pick it up for the reveal. I've had SO much fun with 7 over the years, and adding these to additional phases, along with leaving them with a REAL card as a souvenir, makes an already AAA (Anytime / Anyplace) effect even STRONGER, IMHO. I know its not "strictly" mentalism, but really, really don't care. If you try, enjoy (you will) and please let me know your thoughts! Thanks, Bryn

Bryn,
Card2Phone exists for iOS as well: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/card2phone/id372047576 Danny Garcia offered a similar idea some years ago on Scam School: https://youtu.be/o4h9rOuu0II that works without an app. Unfortunately, the link to the artwork doesn‘t seem to work anymore. Cheers, Patrick |

I'm glad its available for the iPhone too, then!
I remember seeing that. Nice stuff, but *** the app's allowance of a folded card to visibly appear (and "slide off" into your fingers!) certainly adds a few levels! Bryn
