Q, what everyone is being polite about saying is that you have to work on your presentation. If spoon bending is presented as a magical feat the audience accepts it. When I bend spoons I drop the bent spoon on the table as I walk away, I have been actually chased down and asked for my card so they could book me for their events. No one has ever doubted my ability to use the "powers that lie within the mind" to bend a spoon.

You know what, I think q is right. I for one, have NEVER been impressed with spoon bending or fork bending or what not because I always think, ya he just bent it when I wasnt looking. But when it is a super hard to bend spoon where there is no way I can bend it back, that would be really cool. PM me q, I have some ideas.

I just got into metal bending a couple months back so I am still pretty new to the whole idea (although I love it).
I've never had anyone question the spoon not being in their sight the whole time, because the spoon IS actually left in plainview and is bent with no switches at all. (Ben, when I see you again I'll do it). Chris |

Q! why are you ignoring me! is it because [as 'Paul' said I've got a bag on my head???] [although I'm not in a corner...
I think your 'extra mile' is a great idea, and if a lot of magicians here don't want to try and help, just force their opinions on you then that's their problem [and also one more post for them...] and Niko... gawd, I'm not gonna justify myself for you.. stalker... PM me if you could be bothered q -Francisco

Frankly, I think that most people would think there was somthing suspect if they couldn't bend a spoon, though a lot of people over estimate the strength required.

"If they ask to see it, and I don't let them,
right there the magic is dead. It goes from being an amazing memorable moment to a putz clown." You might be considered a putz magician for not handing out your props, but you could never be considered a clown. Maybe you should reconsider the bending spoon trick if you can't hand out the finished product. I saw a 'bending spoon' trick that went for $200 and I'd never hand something out that expensive for someone to wreck or figure out it's not real. Stan aka Magi |

It seems to be that if you find a non-bendable spoon it will seem more of a gimmick than a regular spoon, because a regular spoon is "normally" bendable.

I totally agree with shane_delon, and don't know why any one would buy an expensive gimmick spoon. Bending skills are not so difficult to learn that I fork out $200 for a gimmick to do it for me.

Heat them up really hot , that should temper them and somewhat solidify them in their bent shape

I don't understand why we are still trying to help "q". He seems like a putz.

You can go the extra mile and use an effect from Lee Earle, bend a crystal goblet or wine glass.
I won't tip the method, and it will take adaptation to apply in walk around. But then again it's a killer psychic efect, so if you are willing to shell out extra $$ to Lee for a copy of Manifestations the Ultimate scance give it a whirl. He also ties a candle in a knot, that would be a cool stunt to pull off but maybe best left to mentalists. I think that is my beef with mixing magic and mentalism, it doesn't elevate the magic as much as bring mentalisim down to the level of mere tricks. But that's a whole other thread. Is there a website for Lee Earle's material?
