I'm looking at adding the 4" linking rings to my table and walk around work. I have a set of 4" silver rings. Back in the day (early 90's ish), I remember there was a guy who had a killer routine but for the life of me cannot remember his name. He is an Asian magician. My question is, can anyone help me with his name and what (if you perform the 4" linking rings) is your favorite routine? I want to make my own routine, but would like to learn a great routine first to build off of and make it my own. Thanks!
***update*** The magician's name is Shoot Ogawa. Still need some recommendations on good routines though. |

Check my several "Reverse Rings" based routines on lybrary.com There is a free beBook about the unique approach.

If you liked Shoot Ogawa’s Ninja Ring routine, you might also check Messado’s routine. It has some unique moves.

Shoot's version is faster (hence being called Ninja I suppose) and more like a gauntlet if moves. I think I'll be getting this one to help build my own routine. |

I've only ever used the 8-ring routine from Hugard's "Modern Magic Manual" (also in "Greater Magic", but in less detail). I used to use 4 inch rings and it worked perfectly well. MMM is in the public domain and you can download it free from various places. There are also second-hand paperbacks around and a Dover edition. The book covers hand magic with all sorts of objects.

I do Shoot's Ninja Ring routine myself. Ideally it's done with a table as there is a table link, but I've just adapted it to purely stand-up/walkaround routine.
