I got my order of the 300' ball off Ebay yesterday and I was very pleased with it.
It came from Chazpro, but was ordered through Magicandcollectibles. Price was $19.95 Buy it now...and shipping was around $10. For $30 I was very pleased. Just throwing it out in case anybody else has considered this. Hope it helps. Nick |

I noticed when I do PN with the thin Walmart type clothesline rope, it works maybe 10 percent of the time.
Am I the only one with this problem or is a thicker rope a must?

I would really like to see a performance of this. BTW, it is Richard Sanders routine but portrayed by David Acer. |

Clothesline rope, by its very nature is meant to be thin, so that clothes-pins will fit over it. I had not considered the idea of the fabric softner. Sounds like it might work, but will it maintain it's extra size and softness over time in storage?

No one ever mentioned Sterlin's long and short rope routine. It plays well for children, and gets a lot of screams.
Sterlin's routine have the rope cut 3 or 4 times which uses a lot of rope. I have developed a better way where you cut the rope once or twice and gets the same results. I do a cut and restored rope first, then I go straight into the long and short routine. Richard Lyn "Tricky Ricky" |

I buy my rope from Hocus Pocus. I buy the 300 foot rolls and buy mine in the yellow color.
About a year ago, I saw some pictures of myself wearing a white shirt and the white rope blended in. Combined with that, and just always wanting to be different, I chose one of the 4 colors. It turns out that it looks really bright and shows up better when working on a stage. I think I pay like $40 for a 300 foot roll and probably go through a roll about every 3 months. Nice and soft and already cored. Just cut a length and head out to your show. I have also since made all of my other rope routines that I may use from time to time in the yellow rope. The Professors Nightmare, Insomnia and Hang Em High are all made out of the colored rope. Extra tip...anyone concerned about the glue or gimmick showing up on white rope with the Hang Em High effect by Bob Sheets...try using colored rope. Pretty much invisible, even up close. |

I like the fatter rope like Tabary uses on his videos, and picked some up at a shop in Rochester, NY, which is now closed. You can also find several types at conventions........

As I have read somewhere and by experience, YELLOW can be seen very well from afar.

Yes the softener has lasted for me about 4 months now (since I discovered it)..i could imagine you could re-soften it, if it does lose a bit of its softness.

I have the Camirand Elite Rope (stage version) and I think it looks very good but I haven't experimented with it yet.
The rope from FUN or Royal magic is very good and is much cheaper. There's also a very good version of rope from my local magic shop (South Africa), but I doubt if it can be found internationally. |
