Well, the incentive to buy it directly from VI is clear. When they sell to other stores, they sell it at wholesale cost. So when you buy it from another source, they are making much less than when you buy it directly from them. I think it's fair that they want to incentivize buying from them.

Quote: I could see both sides of this equation. Who I feel for are the actual "brick and mortar" stores selling books like this. How do they compete with offers like this from the publisher? This past Saturday, I was at an actual brick and mortar magic shop. A loyal customer (of the brick and mortar) purchased "Vallarino" from this store just a week prior. He did not initially know VI was offering the 80+ videos as an incentive, but learned about this later. He was obviously irritated (not at the owner) and continued to ask the owner if he could contact VI on his behalf. I'm not sure if VI succumbed to his request. I suspect they would, as Josh and Andi seem to be fair minded businessmen. It is (in my opinion) that VI offer this to anyone purchasing this book, whether directly or from a B&M shop. It's tough out there for these poor B&M shops. I think we can all agree that B&M stores is worth saving, at least as a watering hole for our wonderful hobby/profession. I, admittedly don't visit these enough. Full disclosure...I purchased this book directly from VI just so I could get the videos. The book is fantastic, beautifully written by Mr Lovick, especially with its abundance of photos (books like this with performance videos are the best combo IMO for learning).

Vanishing Inc. answer was lightning fast, and under these circumstances they kindly propose to solve the issue, I just have to send them a copy of the invoice or a picture of me with the book- Noooo!- as a proof of purchase- makes sense, of course. Thanks again for the suggestion Dman! Thanks Vanishing customer service!

I am absolutely loving this book.
I was not at all familiar with Vallarino's work and this massive, gorgeously designed tome is loaded with card magic and technique that feels fresh and exemplifies his unorthodox thinking. The work is elegant, well choreographed, sometimes flashy, and often surprisingly attainable for intermediate card technicians. There are sleights like multiple shifts and false riffle shuffles that I was able to pick up at base level within minutes. I'm not nearly all the way through this material yet but - so far - I love his Ping Pong tabled control, which has many versatile possibilities and feels so satisfying to perform; his variant of the Vernon Strip-Out Addition that doesn't require a break; and his Automatic Sandwich, which is such a startling, flourish-y tabled Sandwich effect that looks much more technically challenging than it really is. If you're a card magician, I can't recommend this book highly enough. I believe it's destined to become a modern classic.

I just received this book yesterday and I must say that the production quality of this book surpasses anything in my Magic Library. I will be spending a LOT of time with this book. It's a WINNER!
