It had to come, in spite of the sticky yet another topic on the DL.
But I was thinking: you have the DB on the top, with the selected card (SC) second from the top. You then do a DL, showing the SC. You can then, as a added convincer to the DL - because of the DB - lift of the SC and hand it to the spectator. Then you take the card back, place it face up on the top, DL, and place it in the middle -- magically it's on the top again. I know that you don't end clean, but what do you think about the idea?

The basic idea of using double backers.
Dai Vernon used this to fool Houdini. He used more then one DB. I think it was 5+ DB. LOL. The good thing is that you are thinking. I think DB's are very powerful. |

LiquidSn,
Do you have a reference for the 5+ DB? I've never heard that version. Van

Oh, I'm a genius!
I discovered - on my OWN - a basic idea. ----------------- Hmmm, Niko actually already have discussed a similar idea. here, It's thread that I have read earlier. Maybe I registered it, but then forgot it, and "re-discovered" it by myself. Darn

That was kicking around here on the left Coast years ago... but, invention of moves on your own is good. I have a DL return I developed a long time ago, and recently found out Juan Tamariz devised the same subtlety.
Great minds think alike...

That's the version I hear all the time. I thought I saw it on Dai Vernon's Biography. The spirit of Dai Vernon.
Thats why he fooled Houdini more than 3 times. he did it over and over again with multiple DB. I might be wrong though. Tony C. |

I believe Daryl taught "the trick that fooled Houdini"(on his AC DVD) by using Tilt in conjunction with the DB which would've enabled Vernon to immediately repeat it numerous times.
