I am doing a wrap up on a church VBS. This is the lessons they had below. Any one with suggestons on what to present magic wise?
1) Divine Design - God made our world - The story of creation - > Genesis 1:1-2:3 > > 2) Promise Blueprint - God made us and cares for us - God promises a > Savior - Genesis 2:8-3:24 > > 3) Resurrection Repairs - God repaired the world through Jesus - The > risen Christ on the Emmaus road - Luke 24:13-35 > > 4) Remodeling Project - God remodels us to serve Him - Zacchaeus > meets Jesus - Luke 19:1-10 > > 5) Church Building - God builds his church - Philip tells about > Jesus - Acts 8:26-40 |

God repaired the world through Jesus -- Could do any Cut and Restored Rope Routine, or a T&R Newspaper. Or you could do a routine with a tissue paper heart, and tear it into 4 quarters, and restore it (ala TT).
God remodels us to serve Him -- Could do something like Clarence the Caterpillar, or a visible colour painting insert that has a caterpillar change to a butterfly. Talk about new creations. There's a couple of ideas to start you off. Do the tricks just have to relate to the themes (and can use other Scripture) or do you need to use those specific Scriptures? - Donald.

I think a Good "Bible" coloring book would fit into a couple of the categories too.

There is a torn, burned, and restored trick using cigarette wrapping papers and flash paper that I have used successfully. The original trick was based upon a sort of voodoo theme but I have adapted it for Christian usage. Ths would fit into category 3 very well.
E-mail me privately if you are interested in this efect and I will try to get the name of it for you.

I think a zombie ball type of effect would be cool, especially one painted like a globe to represent Earth.
I wish I could get Losanders/Wonders "Sphere" but colored like our planet then produce it and continue to hold and care for it, etc as it moves around. I don't know how hard it would be to paint or make such a zombie ball, but I always thought it would be neat. GlenD

Hello,
I am a Gospel Magician who uses my tricks for illustrations during Children's Worship time at my church ( 1st - 5th grade). I have also done a few 30 min. shows for local churches during their summer camps. I have a lesson coming up and am looking for ideas... maybe somebody can help.. The lesson is... God has a life plan and purpose for us. Our greatest joy comes from finding and doing god's purpose for our lives. I am a fan of Duane Laflin and have some of his material and I got interested in Gospel Illusions after seeing B.J. Harris perform at our Upward Basket Awards Night. Thank you, -stephen |

Some very good ideas already posted. Thanks for sharing. Our church usually has a New-Years Eve service/fellowship and it's easy to incorporate routines around that theme (something ending, something beginning) such as cut and restored ropes, torn and restored newspaper, etc.
