A sink plunger is a naturally funny prop. Anyone know any magic effects that use one? The only example I can think of is Mike Caverney's bowl and ball routine from Magicomedy. The rubber sucker part is used as a bowl and the handle is unscrewed and used as a wand.

I remember one that was sold that at the end of the bowl routine a fountain of "draino" was produced.
Can't think of the name. Harris

Thanks Harris. I'm sure I remember seeing something like that in an old Linking Ring.

Pete Biro has a Pom-Pom stick with a faucet, pipes, and sink plunger. Really cool idea. I think it's sold on Hocus-Pocus.

I seem to remember one where a "wizard's hat" was placed on an assistant's head, and when it was removed a plunger remained. Can't recall the name, though...

Bubba Whodini uses the plunger handle for a toilet paper dispenser that the volunteer holds during Slydini's Vanishing (Toilet) Paper Balls Routine.
It has a really pretty clear plexiglass handle for "show business". (OK it came from Dollar Tree!) Bob Bubba Whodini's cousin (On both sides) |

Steve Bargatze has a great routine in his lecture notes called "The Plunger Trick." It uses two volunteers from the audience and a lot of comedy byplay. I doubt it would play as well for anyone else however. Bargatze has a VERY unique character.
If you ever get a chance to see him perform, TAKE IT!!! He is one of the funniest people I've ever seen. I was laughing so hard it hurt, literally. I was exhausted after his show. I met him at the Hoosier Magic Convention this summer. He was very nice and approachable and really gave me some good advice. He also has an inspirational speech he gives that is heart wrenching and hilarious at the same time. He's definitely a class act. Caleb

You can use it with a rabbit out of the hat trick . you proceed normally into the ruitine . then you seem to have difficulty pulling the rabbit out . and saying something along the lines " the little bugger is at it again " then you take a banner out which says something on the likes of , UNION BREAK , ON STIKE , NEED BETTER WAGES , so you take a plunger out , plunge the hat a bit and end by pulling, still attached to the plunger { rabbid or your favorite fake thingy } and for thyose who use rabbid you can even comment by saying and he even has the courage to look angry and all ****ed off .
you can pump a lot of comedy out of this one guys

Not a magic effect, but the Fairly Famous Family, in their toilet-themed street show "Now Wash Your Hands", had a couple of plungers which transformed into a diablo (the two sucker heads pulled off and stuck back to back) and handsticks (one of the handles had a length of string inside which was pulled out and attached to the other).
