I agree with Danny, that is one truly "electric" get up!

Anytime you busk, you have to show your face. Or at least that is what I used to think. I think in that get-up, you do just pretty much tell them to pay you, and hold out a bucket, and they would.

I sure hope you are using rechargeable batteries man. Cool outfit!

Great idea, I have done a little busking. I first show a quick killer as an introduction and after a few tricks conversation always turns to why I am doing it and I get a lot of support.

I think you have a fantastic idea. Keep in mind when you are performing on the street be very careful. In the area I used to perform street magic there are some questionable characters. It has never happened to me but I have heard tales of street performers getting ripped off. Also check the local authorities to see if you need any kind of permit.

These subjects of permits and questionable characters have been discussed in depth in prior threads. You might want to look at the archives and some of the earlier threads before you post.

Larry Taylor got a bit torqued about my answer to him. So, in the interest of explanation, here are a tiny number of the threads on permits.

There are others on bad pitches.

A little searching can save a lot of wasted bandwidth.

There are several pages of threads on "permits."

Greetings and Salutations Bill,

Bill, I didn't look up any of your references as I'm going to assume (safely) that your research is spot-on once again, and as a regular follower of this forum I'm certain to have already read them.

I'm posting to request that one of the movers-and-shakers, maybe BroDavid or Harry, hint-hint, put a sticky on the top of the list requesting the new posters at least glance through previous pages and do a search before posting questions that could be redundant.

While I'm virtually certain it will be ignored by many of those surfing up for the first time, maybe it'll knock down some of the repeat questions.

I've been on this board for a while now, and the other day bored at work I went to the last page and worked my way forward for a few pages, re-reading some of the older threads, killing time before the end of the day. There are literally several books of great information on this part of the Café for those who would simply bother to look them up.

The sticky's probably a good idea that few would actually pay attention to, but maybe it could help in the prevention of re-inventing the wheel as often.

Thanks for listening. And if you're new to the site, take a few minutes and surf through the other pages, there's great stuff to by found.

It would save all of us a lot of time if newcomers to the forum would just take their keywords and do a search. It's better than Google, really! With Google, you have to filter out all of the non-magic stuff.

The part that really gets me is when you have a thread that is within two lines of the one you are posting to, and it has the very subject you are posting about in it.

Another thing that bugs me is when someone posts a question to the forum and nobody answers. So an hour later, they post something like "What? Doesn't anybody on this forum know where I can get composted horses hoof wax? I thought this was 'Magicians Helping Magicians!' "

And then an hour later, "I'm still waiting!"

I send them to Penguin.

I have composted horse's hoof wax if that person is still looking. We use it at the School for Scoundrels all the time. It is of the highest quality, and nothing works better.
