Dark Mother
Many believe, regardless of their faith, that humankind is descended from a single pair. Specifically Adam and Eve. However, there is one more ancestor who is barely whispered about in the ancient history of humankind. Her name is Lilith whom some believe is the first mother and the mother of the Murderer. Some contend that because Lilith was not submissive to Adam that she was turned away and sent into exile and Eve was created to take her place. It was out of jealousy that while Eve was contemplating the forbidden fruit that Lilith seduced Adam and bore him Cain. And just as Cain was marked so were all the children of Lilith invisibly marked with the mark of the Tooth and Thorn. Many bare this mark today, unknowingly. Oblivious to the dark legacy that they bear as it remains hidden just as the real first sin remains hidden in this forgotten tale. It is said that the children of Lilith bear this mark on their left hand. Don’t bother to look, as this mark can only be revealed by fire and ash… or so the ancient tradition says. I bear this mark. I found it about a year ago and my mind and heart are finally starting to come to grips of bearing it, but what it means, I do not know, and that is the true nightmare. I am curious though. Is there one of my brothers or sisters here tonight, someone with whom I can share this burden and perhaps try to understand it with. Is there any brave soul here that will take this test of fire and ash? Okay so here is a synthesis of Burger’s Ash on Palm, Borodin’s Witchcraft with a twist (an untried twist I must confess) and…. figure the last one out. The effect is that the mark of the Tooth and Thorn are revealed on your hand and the spectator’s hand. I haven’t tried this out and I am a little afraid to, as I am sure this will cause some to lay awake at night and depending upon the person, there certainly is no entertainment in that. For those of you that have the knowledge I hope you like it! Take Care! Caspar |

Caspar,
Nice presentation of one of my favorites. I quite like it. Have you thought about using a stamp ala David Parr's werewolf routine? Mark

I am not familiar with David Parr's routine and I do not want to tip the method on the open forums. I am glad that you like it though and I am still debating on whether or not to try this out as it is pushing the envelope, in my opinion, a little bit.
Again, thank you! Caspar |

There are places I wouldn't try it...but Tacoma? Have at it!
This is one of, if not my favorite effects and with all the stories I came up with to present it, and there are many, I always leave a 'happy out' for a person who may take it a bit seriously...to put it another way... Left hand 'Good Luck!' Right hand 'Bad Luck'...I'll choose based on the demeanor of the volunteer...a pain in the butt gets the Right Hand! I like your story!

Very nice presentation! I can see this getting great audience reaction. I would not be afraid to use it, providing that you use common sense. You obviously wouldn't want to do this at Sunday prayer dinner! But, then again you might, depending on what type of person you are . Great job

I think the presentation is terrific! I'd love to see this one live and watch the audience as the revelation happens.

That is a very meaningful presentation. And tormenting people's minds in the middle of the night is part of our calling

I was going to wait until tomorrow to post on this, but I can see that I don't need to.
This is a very good basis for a piece of magic. Yes, it is similar to part of the effect in Witchcraft. But it is also quite different in its tone. Witchcraft is done with a certain amount of humor. This one (at least in this presentation) is not. That's not a bad thing, by the way. Presenters should have their own styles and this is consistent with Caspar's. Caspar is thinking in his own direction. This is very good. Keep up the good work. This could serve as a springboard for a couple of other routines.
