But in all fairness the chili dunking thing started because my Jr. High School Caféteria served both at the same time. I think it was just bound to happen sooner or later. The peanut butter, lettuce, tomato and mayo was probably the result of those lean early days of doing magic for a living. LOL! If anything, it does show that I have a creative side... Well Michael Baker we can't argue with Mom (Mom is always right).
I heard that Peanut Butter goes great with Steak. I guess if that is so, having it with Chile is probably not so unusual. Mole' is one of my favorite Mexican dishes. For those who may not know what Mole is. Mole is a sauce made of Mexican Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Chile Powder and I'm sure a few more ingredients that I don't know about. Mole is usualy served with Chicken and Corn Tortilla's. Now I'm really hungry. Iven

Iven,
Although I am not familiar with them, I do know that there are many African recipes that use peanuts, peanut sauce, and peanut butter. I also just talked with my brother who used to work in a restaurant that coated veal chops with peanut butter before grilling. The idea here, besides the added taste, was that peanut butter, basically an oil, would keep the veal moist, as it is basically a dry (non-marbled) meat. Apparently, it was a big seller for them.

This is by the the most disgusting thread I've ever read. I just eat peanut butter and HONEY on plain bread, or 12-grain. Sometimes I have peanut butter and Blackberry Jam.
And of course I drink a half gallon of milk with each sandwhich. You can't forget the milk. Eating a peanut butter sandwhich without a glass of milk is almost sinful.

Sate (chicken smothered in Peanut sauce) is enjoyed in many parts of the World and is usually associated with Asia and India. The Peanut is truly one of the most universaly used plants in the World. Most of us remember the work done by George Washington Carver. No part of the Peanut or it's plant goes unused. I don't know if it is being practiced much these days but the Peanut plant is one of the best plants to use for crop rotation (soil rejuvination). Most junkies know that injecting a little melted down Peanut Butter will get them through times when they can't get their "fix" (just a little side note). Iven

Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

Ok, so what is your favorite brand? My favorite cannot be bought in the grocery store. When I was a missionary in the Dakotas, the Native Americans on the Reservations would always give us their cans of Government Welfare Peanut Butter. It is to die for. And smeared on Kristi, WOW!

Sorry, Jif and Peter Pan fans, but peanut butter and sugar do not belong in the same *room*, let alone the same food.
Plain old ground up peanuts and maybe a touch of salt for me, thanks. Grilled on whole wheat bread is divine. Tasty with apple slices, too. I'd rather save the celery for filling with cream cheese. |

Too bad it is so lethal to some folks.
To me that is almost as weird as spontaneous combustion, even though I know it is a very serious reality to many (the peanut butter allergy thing).
