Hengky,
The dipping action of the Raise Rise actually brings the effect to life. It should not be a barbaric swing, but basically what you're doing is telling the audience that you are going to show them how the card comes to the top, but you're going to do it slowly. The patter I use is along the lines of, "Normally, your card knows that its job is to jump to the top, but this time it's a bit confused as we've left it sticking out and a bit astray from the deck. Don't worry, though, with just a gentle shake, it starts to remember its task!" and it jumps up, up and to the top. So basically, you're giving a gentle shake which IS a slight dip, whereby the move to make the card jump to the higher spot is made. It should not be a big movement, and THAT is one of the challenges of the Raise Rise-- to accomplish the "move" without overtly waving the deck around. To do it as fluently and with such a gentle tiny dip"shake" as can be seen when done in Ray's hands requires oodles of practice. It's a toughie. peace.
