I am debating whether or not to buy this set (as it has recently been converted to dvd). Does anyone have an opinion about these tapes? I am specifically looking for information on the type of magic that is being taught. Is it mostly gaffed material? Are a lot of props neccesary?
Thank you |

Its been a while since I watched it last, but I don't remember there being very many gimmicked routines. Most are ungimmicked I believe. Jerry is impressive in that most all his stuff is done with spectators burning his hands, or at least they can burn the hands, yet still he fools them. No quick, hand is faster than the eye type stuff. Also, Jerry creates his material without influence from other magicians. He comes up with every move and sleight on his own. This is both good and bad. Good because a lot of what you will learn is new and original. Bad because some of the effects are more easily accomplished using more common sleights (sometimes). Volume two is almost all cards, vols 1 & 3 are mixed.
I liked the set. |

Recommended. His style is slow and deliburate. Magic just happens. A treat to watch.
