Hey guys,
I perform on stage very frequently and have a grand illusion show, but one thing I don't have is a decent backround. I usually just use whichever the theatre will provide however I am looking for something different and cheap. Maybe some floor light that shoot up in the air or onto the back curtain. Any one have any ideas.... |

Well to shoot light up in the air onto the the cyc you will need several things.
-A scoop light will throw some very wide flood light onto the cyc. You could also look at fresnels, pars & ellipsoidals. I would stick with source fours if possible. It hese are on the ground you should use a floor stand for the lights. -Next you need a dimmer if you decide to turn the lights on and off or dim them. -Now you need a light board to control the dimmers. Of cource the cables for this as well, including power cords and signal cables for either DMX or multiplex signals. -Last but not least a hazer to pick up beams of light in the air. Now you will need several lights if you want to change colors. One for each color thnat you intend to use. Color mixing is done with Red, Blue and Green. Mixing these three colors will creat any color you need. Hope that helps, it is a lot to digest. Let me know if I need to explain any of it further. Kevin

Hi
http://www.mobiltech.co.uk/Lighting/PL4.htm These are par can replacements and can be set up in under 3 mins. I have used them for over a year and can be utilised for front back and side lighting. There are no gels to fade and the UV is achieved with a glass filter. Paula

Paula,
I am really impressed with the DichroTek package. I've tried to contact the manufacturer, but haven't received a response from them. On another thread where you left this information, someone else posted that they didn’t believe that these were being manufactured anymore. Do you know if they are still available? My biggest question is: would they work on 110 volts? Any further knowledge that you have would be appreciated; however, I will still endeavor to contact Mobil Tech.
