I'm working on a chop cup routine. Looking to use a load of a plastic head.
Write to see if anyone knows of a good load that's a plastic head. It's meant to be surprising rather than scary. The chop cup is a Morrissey cup or Morrissey styled cup that's about 3 1/2" tall. Ideally, I envision something that looks like a head but is meant to be ball-like, like the old nerful, which is out of production. Thanks in advance. |

You may want to consider a small children's hand/finger puppet. Simply roll everything into the head portion of the puppet and voila! The nice thing about the puppet load is that it is absolutely silent.

Hey, it's almost October. Don't tell me that you can't find an appropriate plastic head at one of those haloween stores?!?!? I'm right now going to search the internet for a plastic shrunken head. Just imagine my cups and balls routine final load, a lemon, a lime, a bing cherrie that turns into a tomato, then finally, a shrunken head! Talk about contrast!

Do a web search for Archie McPhee. They have lots of odd ball stuff.

Google for a shrunken head... actually a bobble head toy? There are tons of little dolls in toy stores from girls to superheroes.

Check a thrift store. They have dolls and kids toys piled up by the thousands.

I found several at the Oriental Trading Co. cheep enough to give away.
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

I love john bannon's routine. It's the best published routine I've seen.
I use a Jimmy Neutron Head that I found at Target. I just chopped it off the body of the plastic toy. I had no idea who/what it was but people sure let me know once I started using it.

Frank - I agree about Bannon's routine. The nerful tips it off, eh? The routine is solid and I like its reasoning. It's not a gotcha routine and it includes lots of surprises on some nice off beats.

Yes. Very well done. All the things I don't like about other routines are left out of this.
There are just too many subtlties to discuss. You just have to try it and see for yourself. One tip I have is to make sure you're not talking like a used car salesman when you're performing this or other patter-heavy routines. You still have to make it seem off-the-cuff and slow it down.

You can find plenty of these at some craft stores, in the section with the doll making supplies.
