I am working on an effect where a signed $20 bill "appears" in a new sealed card deck wraped around a selected card. Is this new or am I trying to reinvent the wheel?

It sound new. But I am willing to bet Marlo invented it 40 years ago.

Sounds cool! If anybody's done it before...Marlo is the one. Good luck with the routine.

Helge Thun published a routine similar to your's called "Bulkoki" in the book "Concertos for Pasteboards", but I don't know if the handling allows for a sealed deck. It's probably worth a look.

The effect mentioned above has deck interaction, (selected cards etc.) first, but the borrowed bill does end up, as stated,
wrapped around a card. Obviously your use of apparently two decks and the sealed second deck aspect adds a new slant on things. An original variation. Roy Johnson had an effect where the note ended up INSIDE a selected playing card. Paul. |

Grant's "Million Dollar Bill Mystery". Several years ago, I tried it in one of my shows and it killed. Before the show, seal the bill pieces in the card. Force this prepared card on an audience member. Have a volunteer sign the face and then do a trick where the card ends up in an impossible location. Give him the card to keep as a souvenir, thank him, and let him return to his seat. Now move on to Grant's "Million Dollar Mystery". At the conclusion, ask the original volunteer if he still has the signed card. He'll say yes. Have him pass it forward to you. Carefully rip the card open at one end and slowly peel it apart, letting the pieces of the bill fall out into the waiting hands of an audience member in the front row. The rest is academic if you know Grant's trick. |

Nice idea Craig. I think the Grant idea was included in one of the Fulves Self Working series in recent years.
Peanuts? Yes, M. Ammar does it with nuts doesn't he? I think Martin Lewis may have a very simple note in playing card also. Probably in "Martin's Miracles". Paul. |

I think Ben Harris had an effect similar to the one you describe. I am busy until monday but I will try and look it up then

Haven't heard about the bill, but signed card in sealed deck sounds similar. Anyway it's good material!
