Hey All,
I'm looking for an effect similar to the one DC did on his Vanishing Airplane special. The one where he borrows a ring, vanishes it and it appears in a flower a lady was holding. Is this a marketed effect? Are there any like it still in production? I'm sure it's just another ring flight with a different twist, but I liked the way this illusion looked. Any ideas? Does anyone do this trick or something similar? Any help would be great. Thanks to all!

This is an effective trick.
It is well worth the money, buy it if you are a close up magician. |

Is this the same as DC's? It seems a little different.

I did a search for "Ring On Rose" and the hit I get is an effect by Petrick & Mia. Albeit their stuff is great I just don't think this is the same effect I recall DC doing. In their effect the ring appears on the stem, vice the bud of the blooming rose with the ring appearing in the center of the bud as performed by DC. Anymore hints Paulajayne? Thanks!

I am also looking for a closer to DC version of ring IN rose. It looked just amazing -that bare handed vanish he did with spectators all around him!
Now this trick is a reputation maker - if we could only get our hands on it. Any ideas on who originated it? |

I thought DC was useing "Now-U-C-IT,Now-U-Don't" gimmick for vanishing the ring. And I thought DC was useing duplicate ring to appear in a flower...
Is "Ring Flight to Rose routine" really possible to perform? In a real world?

My take on DC's ring in rose is that it isn't a "real world" effect. Of course I only know it from the 15th Anniversary close-up montage - I haven't seen the Vanishing Airplane special since I was a kid.
Was the Now-U-C-It gimmick even around in 1982? Maybe under a different name? Will |

Hahaha! Of course it wasn't a real world effect, just like people think Blaine's watch steal and arm thru window was a real world effect...(what is a real world effect anyway, is this an MTV thing?)
Seriously though, the illusion was beautiful and certainly enviable to say the least! Johnny

Just a quick question about NUCI, NUD.
Anyone know where I can find a demo? I'd like to see it in action. Thanks! |

I used to have "Now-U-C-IT,Now-U-Don't" which I bought when I was 17 I think and it sucks! The reason I didn't like it is because the gimmick is way over priced and the effect is dismal.

Does anyone have a better description of the ring to rose by P and M? The description at hocus pocus is a little vague.

Thanks Wayne and Pete.
This is the description as seen at P & M Quote:
Sitting on the table is a vase with a silk rose in it. A borrowed wedding ring is placed in a clear plastic glass by its owner and the glass is then placed on the table next to the vase. A piece of paper is placed on the owners palm. You take a clear glass with a spectators ring in it and pour the ring from the glass into her hand. Bunch the paper into a ball. I don't quite understand what this means. You tip the ring into the spectator's hand which has a piece of paper on it but then who screws it up. If it is a s***** won't they notice. Quote:
Then you can place it into the "Bermuda Triangle Vanish" (sold separately). (If you don't own "Bermuda Triangle Vanish" vanish the ring with your favorite method). Does this mean you don't HAVE to do the whole paper scrunching thing and just vanish it in a TT? Quote:
Light the paper and ring instantly vanishes into the flames. Take the rose from the vase, give the stem a twirl and instantly the ring is on the stem of the rose! A fascinating close-up effect. If you just vanished the ring why are you vanishing it again? What does twirl mean? Flip it upside down? Sping it like a top? To me the effect is the ring is tip into a piece of flash paper in the spectator's hand. The paper is burnt and the ring vanishes. The rose is picked up and the ring appears on it. Is this right? |

Got the trick and its pretty ordinary. You put the ring under a cloth, PICK UP THE ROSE AND PUT IT BACK IN THE VASE FOR NO REASON and then make the ring 'vanish'.
