Glenn Bishop's Tested Tricks for Tableside Tricksters
DVD Two... Tested Tricks For Table Side Tricksters DVD - Includes... The Shell game (Often said the best shell game routine in magic) - Coins To Glass - Stack Of Half's (Cap and Pence) - The Cups and Balls - Die Namic Diamonds - And More... Price... $20.00 plus $1.75 for shipping in the United States... Overseas orders the shipping charge is just $5.00........... This DVD has five routines that are suitable for walkaround magic or for restaurant work. They are obviously routines that Glenn has done for a long time. There are no false moves and there is no fumbling about. The scripts are short and snappy. Three Shell Game with explanation -- all I can say is that this is an excellent, fast-paced version of the shell game. I've seen a lot of shell game workers. I have never seen anyone who does it better than Glenn. But, after all, he's only been doing it since he was eight years old! My only complaint about this routine is that some of the transitions overlap. But it's a very clear explanation. He has some excellent tips in this that apply to other magic routines as well. The Coins to Glass -- a transposition of four coins to a glass. Glenn uses elements of several different routines to accomplish this in a very clean manner. Stack of Coins -- Leipzig's Pride -- a very clever version of this classic. Glenn has eliminated a couple of problematic areas in this. Cups and Balls -- A combination of idea from Jim Ryan and Dai Vernon. This is a short, effective routine. I must admit that I didn't see the final loads when he did them the first time through. Die-namic Diamonds -- This reminds me of several different tricks, but this is actually Glenn's own item. It's a color change of some "diamonds" followed by a transposition of these stones to a cube that is in the spectator's hand from the start. This DVD is available only from Glenn at his web site -- http://www.mrhypnotist.org At this price, you cannot go wrong.

Thank you very much for the review Bill. I worked really hard on the material for this DVD. This is stuff from my act and most of it I did at the Magic Castle a few months back.
Thanks for what you said about the shell game and the cups and balls. I worked hard on them... And you reviewing them - being a performer for as long as you have - and doing the cups and balls as part of your act for a long time - your review really made my day - (Month)... I have enjoyed your posting at the Café and I have learned quite a lot of good ideas and magic from your posting. THank you very much Bill for this kind review...

Today a parcel with Glenn´s 2 DVD dropped into my mailbox. I found several great card routines.
The coin routines on the second DVD was in my taste, very clean and stunning effects. Glenns Shell Game routine was very smooth and clean. Glenn use sponge peas, that was a new thing for me. If you like card and close up magic then these DVD´s might be of interest. |

Well this should be the final post on my DVD project. The reason I did the DVD's in the first place was not to make money with them. Yes I sold them at my lectures and off my web page - and the money was good.
But the reason I did the DVD project in the first place was to claim the ideas that I feel are my ideas in the way that I do things. This is why I put the video of me performing magic at my web site. And also why I sent some people around the world my stuff for free. My DVD's and my web site have been a way for me to share my magic and ideas with magicians around the world. They were also produced to prove to the magic world that the son of Billy Bishop also paid his performing dues... I have been very lucky in the way that I have met some of the legends in magic. And although I have been accused of name dropping a little to much - all I can say is - these are people I knew while I was growing up. When I performed at the magic castle and the magicians that knew Dai Vernon told me stories. I did not think that it was name dropping. Because growing up around the magic castle would get you to meet and hear stories about many greats in magic. I think at this time the DVD's and shell game book have completed the reason that they were made for... So as of right now they are now off the market... The only way to get them is to go to my lecture... As a closing entertainment I am posting a link to a thread on a blog I found most interesting... In fear of name dropping - Ed Marlo once told me... "They only cut up good guys"... http://www.magicbunny.co.uk/phpBB2/viewt......n+bishop

I don't think you should listen to these people... regardless of what they say or the comments they make, at least you have the B@^^$ to release and share with the magic community... It seems to be a big problem with the magic community... kinda like when Blaine's special was aired, there was a ton of jealous jerkoffs telling every other magician that they could have done a better job...

I just got both his card magic and table-side tricksters dvds, and I'm highly unimpressed. So far the only routines I've properly watched are the ones on the table-side dvd and, barring the shell game, not one of them is a polished, ready-to-be-released routine.
Shellgame - it looked great. I'm uninitiated in this trick so I can't give an educated review but to my eye it looked great. No funny moves and everything looked clean. Coins to Glass - many contrived moves and no patter to support them. Why do you keep dropping the coins out of the glass (the laypeople reason)? The only move that fooled me (I recognised it but didn't see it) was when you used a Han Ping Chien while tossing out the three coins from the glass. Cups and Balls - again, too many contrived moves without patter. Why put a ball into the right hand only to put it into the left hand a second later? Why move over the cups from the right hand to the left pocket? The final loads were terrible. For a good C&B routine check out David Regal's. Stack of Coins - it doesn't look like you're taking the loose coins and the impression was that you still need to practice this trick. Die Namic Diamonds - the switch is very bad. I found the routine quite confusing and hard to follow. Also, having the spectator keep their hand like that for 5 min. while you play with some sticks is asking for trouble. In all, I feel that $5 is about right to spend on it. Buy it as long as the sale is on. You might find some ideas but, unless you're buying it for the shellgame, don't expect any polished routines. |

From a quick view of the card tricks movie I can predict that my review of this one isn't going to be much better than of the tricksters' dvd.

Well meilechl these effects are only demonstrations and secrets. These are not show DVD's.
The effects are presented as a teach in not a show. I did both the coins to glass and the cups and balls at the magic castle. They seemed to like it. For a performance of the cups and balls I suggest that you visit my web site. But you most likely won't like that as well!

Just packed up and set the last stack to go out. So I guess we can look forward to - at least one or two more weeks of Bishop Bashing.
When I had the last week of a sale I just knew the bashing squad would jump at the chance to get my DVD's at a low price and then write their OPPINIONS! It sort of reminds me of the old dunk tank on the midway. Step right up - for five dollars see who can dunk the professional! Life goes on!

Trying to keep up with two threads meilechl thanks for buying them. There off the market... I suggest you read the DVD 1 thread...
If you really did not like them I suggest that you wait a few months and then sell them on e-bay. A lot of pro's liked them and now they are going undground... To the people that liked them - thanks for buying them and to the people that didn't thanks for buying them too... I am off to other projects... Best ahead!
