This book is for casino personel... if magicians buy this, it might make them confused since 98% of magicians that do gambling demonstrations don't even know the rules of the various games.

I am thinking to install this big book in my library. Knowing cheating methods can help us to present our gambling routine more legitimately.

Well, yes and no. The late John Scarne always said that most card mechanics were the "magicians of the underworld," because they could perform sleights more indetectibly under more pressure than most magicians -- and he was right. If you mess up a magic trick, you'd just be embarrassed. But if a card cheat gets caught switching cards, it could be a real threat to his health!

Incidentally, if you are interested in this type of information, you may want to read John Scarne's autobiography, THE ODDS AGAINST ME, which was published by Simon & Shuster in 1966. It's out of print now, but you should be able to pick up a used copy fairly cheaply -- take a look on ABE, the Advanced Book Exchange database; point your Web browser to http://dogbert.abebooks.com.

All I'm saying is almost all the magicians in this forum that I have talked to regarding cheating at poker or blackjack couldn't even deal a legitimate hand if their life depended on it... I'm not knocking on magicians that want to learn about cheating, but all I want to suggest is to study the different games from all angles, then you will truly understand about cheating...

Although this might be very interesting, it might not be for magicians. Maybe more for gambling fanatics.

Magicians should be able to get some very useful but seldom-known information from this book.

There is a lot of things that magicians can use, the only problem is if you are showing a veteran gambler, they might ask questions pertaining to procedures of certain games and that's when you hear a loooooong deafening silence from the magician..

Does anyone know if this is being sold exclusivly by elmagic shop or is this going to be sold elsewhere?? I did a google search and couldn't find any other places advertising it. Its kinda weird if it is being sold exclusivly through a magic dealer.

No, it's not going to be sold exclusively through elmagicshop. I'm not sure what other magic dealers, if any, will be carrying it though.

Las Vegas, NV 89101
(702) 382-7555
http://www.gamblersbook.com

Gambler's General Store
800 S. Main St.
Las Vegas, NV 89101

http://www.gamblersgeneralstore.com

Casino Creations
3095 Montessori Street
Las Vegas, NV 89117

Probably because they're not taking preorders. Fwee listed elmagic and GBS as the places taking preorders.
