Have you ever had someone engage the double lock on handcuffs. I was doing a show and a cop offered his. I usually use my S&W cuffs and Shackels. I was stuck for a secound but got out. I want to let them use their cuffs so they don't think I am using trick ones.

I encourage the explanation and use of the double lock.
I don't think anyone else does though. Explanations of things most people will not understand will only cause things to drag and become boring. If you can rapidly educate on what it is/does and make them fully understand,it adds. If you can't, its better off to skip it. Oh and more to the issue, Yes. People will try an trip you up if they can. If you give them that chance for a personal ego boost, don't be mad when they take it. The more control you take, the less it will happen, but always watch out for the jerk trying to show off to his friends.

This has never happened to me. I always try to maintain a level of control. Keeping in mind the average person is probably not familiar with handcuffs in general and the double locking mechanism specifically, I think we can agree that most police officers will be familiar with cuffs and the double lock and you should be prepared for this. There are some ways around having the double lock applied. Feel free to PM me for further details.

I think I have a post around here about why you wear a protective cup if you do the strait-jacket....
....in short, if it can happen, it will happen, so be ready for it. |

I think I have one about the gal that tried to break my ribs in the humane jacket as well. She was about 200 pounds up on me and it was probably all muscle judging from the pain.
