Bought street shells by piacente, what a waste of money, very short and only basic moves shown.
He may be very skillful and look the part but please give us some sort of value for money ! Awful bit when he recommends Magic Makers Golden shells they proceeds to use his own because the golden shells look so pimpish.

I don't think it was the look of the Magic Makers "Golden 3 Shell Game" that was the problem.
More likely it is because they are not made correctly and don't handle very well. BTW, the "Golden Shells" is a product name for a very different set of shells that is made to handle very well, and in a much higher quality than the Magic Maker product. They are produced by my company, The School for Scoundrels, and the fact that they are so often confused with the inferior product is a bit of a sore point with me. Magic Makers has twice put out very inferior products that infringed on our product names, The "Street Shells" and the "Golden Shells," and this has caused a lot of confusion for people, even to the point that some people have come to us to demand a refund for their shells, which it turned out, were actually not our product at all, but Magic Makers'. You tend to get what you pay for in life, and even more so in magic. Might I recommend the Bob Kohler video, "The Golden Shells" or Bob Sheet's "Absolutely Nuts," and the Phil Cass video on the shells. These will give you much more valuable work on the shells. The best book available on the subject is "The Shell Game" by Tom Osborne, which is a seven dollar pamphlet available in any magic store. It has the real work on the game from the real street con artists, and is a gold mine of moves, ruses, and ideas. If you can find them, Frank Garcia's "All in a Nutshell" and Jack Chanin's booklet "Hello, Sucker" are really great. |

Check ebay for the Garcia and Chanin books.
Also, Gary Ouellette's Super Shells by Camirand Academy is very good and highly recommended. Eric DeCamps has a brilliant routine in his lecture notes--I think it is available from Andrew Pinard's site, http://www.threeshellgame.com . |

Yep I very much agree with steve, the dvd about three card monte is about the same quality. If you compare it with a quality dvd like daryl does the full monte. Well it's just really difficult to compare, and the shells from magic makers inc. Well It has been very truthfully stated above,
Fully agreed! |

Yep - Had a chance to get my hands on the knock-off shells. Awful handling compared to Whit's.
(Personally I like the La Maggoire shells the best.) I second Ouellet's manuscript as a good solid routine for the shells. Randy |
