There's a few I've been working on for twenty years. I'd call that expensive.

A broken tongue depressor that came with Copenetro. I use the tongue depressor as a paddle with dots jumping around.

Hmmm... The thing I have that cost the most would be my locked deck... lol I didn't even buy that
I'd have to go with the King Rising Levitation. That cost me a whopping 30 SOMEODD DOLLARS!!! (Everyone should give me money now. You can see I'm as poor as a rock).
And with a wave of my wand, under the cloth we find that...uh ...may I have another assistant please?

I have a set of Johnson Products cups in brass. They cost me $200, but the feel and weight are just right for me. I've improved my handling of the routine since getting them.

WOW! Some of you have spent some serious cash on your magic tricks. I wish I had a couple of thousand to spend. I was hard pressed to spend $115 for Axtell's Magic Drawing Board. It was the first trick I spent over a hundred dollars for.
When I got into magic around two years ago I hated to spend over $30 for a trick. If I hit the lottery watch out.... Losander's floating table will be mine. Mr Mike |

Mr. Mike, my most expensive single effect was the Axtell Drawing Board too. Fortunately, I was doing paid kid's shows by the time I bought it, so I was able to justify the purchase with my wife! My bunny box was about $100 as well and I also spent $100 on an all-day seminar last year. I am looking to buy a good set of cups this year, so that will likely become my new most expensive trick.

Like Dave VanVranken, for me it's the Cups and Balls. I'm considering everything ever spent on this as money laid out for one "trick." One of these days I will get the engraved silver Sherwoods.
But I figure I have spent less on it than Bill Palmer! Most expensive single item? The Feejee Mermaid. You don't even want to know! Yours, Paul |

I've lost my most expensive items, a chop cup and a zombie ball, about £25 each now sitting somewhere in a plastic bag location unknown. Actually I have probably spent hundreds of pounds on playing cards. At only £1.50 a deck I just can't resist!

My most expensive trick was a chop cup from a magic store in Tucson while I was in college. It was about $30 for one cup.
It is a wonderful effect and my kids love it. When I bought it, it matched my other cups and balls set (it was $60, so $20 per cup). Over the years, the cups and the chop cup developed different looking patina, so I don't use them together. Since then, I have learned not to try to polish the copper cups. Daniel |

The most expensive and the only trick that I ever bought cost me a Half Crown when I was four and a half.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
