Does anyone have any knowledge on the Head Twister Illusion? This is another prop I have been considering buying. If you know anything (good or bad) please let me know.
Is it weak or strong? Does it get a good laugh? Does it seem real? |

We used to preform it and it got good reactions from both kids and grown ups. I don't do it any more since I have a new assistent and the illusion was custom built for my old assistant.

Greg Frewin and Nathan Burton sell one and it looks very good and is also compact.

It can be good or bad on how well you present/perform it.

Are you referring to a HEAD twister only...or also with the body?
We happen to own the very first Twister built. It has been on our show for about 2 years. It gets a great reaction, however the reation is quite short and not prolonged. But, that may just be in our presentation. We do it so some pretty heavy industrial music and the presentation is in tempo with the music. Kevin & Kristen

Andrew Mayne has a head twister effect in 2 of his books and it uses only a towel on the head, I've done it at the local swimming hole and freaked some people out! Boy what a cheap prop that towel is!

I've owned three different types of "Twisters". The first was an Abbott's made Head Twister, later followed by a Mak model.
The second was a full-body Twister, built by Chalet. The third was the Rubber Neck illusion, designed by Nathan Burton. Of the four different "twisters" I've owned, only one is still in my possession, the Chalet full-body. That has had the biggest impact on audiences. The least effective was the Rubber Neck, with the head only effect being effective given the proper conditions (I.E. something good to sell to clients as an add-on finale for a smaller show). |

I smell the Franz Harary/Mark kornhauser/Ed Alonzo, who created twister debate!
