I tried doing a search, but nothing came up.
Aside from that, considering that Handlordz wasn't around back in the 1980's, I'm guessing that these are more aptly referred to as sybilesque than impossible stacks. The original precursor to these types is Bill Kalush's Kalush's Cut from December 1982/Jan 1983 issue of magic manuscript. Troy Hooser's was published in Minotaur in 1990. And the one that inspired a lot of the later work: Chris Kenner's Five Faces of Sybil, was in print in 1992. Even if they did have those cuts back then, which I seriously doubt, they didn't establish them in print. |

Many believe that the sybil was derived from this move, or independantly re-created. But as far as actually published, the Impossible Stack was the first published that I or any expert card manipulators can track down. And yes, I've seen this manuscript even though I had trouble reading it since it is in Polish.lol But the pictures were clear enough to see the workings of this cut. Handlordz actually has nothing to do with sybil or the original impossible stack for that matter except for the fact that De'vo used Marius Sr.'s concept of the original I.S. for his CTG routine. J |

Jamil,
Thanks for the clarification. My mistake. I don't follow any of the Handlordz stuff as it holds little interest to me, so I have no idea who is a part of it. I couldn't find the reference on their boards as suggested by a previous poster. I would, however, like to see the original, for historical purposes. Do you know the name of the book, so I can track it down? |

I just realized my comment about having little interest in the handlordz stuff might have come off differently than I intended. I think the stuff they do with cards is amazing to watch, I just have little interest in following the discussions on their boards.

It seems like the site isn't working anymore. Isn't there a magic website that showcases people's video routines?

It's so nice to see which response a female with a nice pic gets on this site It's obvious that we males are controlled by our hormones...
If a user with the nick "kickassmagi" asked those questions, people would have laughed Don't get me wrong, it's nice to answer, and the correct thing to do, but it's just funny.

Shidennodmistl, yes there is a site that showcases peoples videos of routines with cards, coins, anything. Type in magicvideodepot.com and you will get a site that has thousands of video performances of just about any trick you've ever heard of and it's variations. Enjoy!

Still Samuel, the link is of importance. Though hidden passes and shuffles will be hard to see the first time, the second and third time should be easier. Aside from that, that's why we all have video editting software. Gotta love slow mo and watching things frame by frame. Awesome.

If ya wanna see some XCM (Xtreme Card Manipulation): you've got http://www.handlordz.com
And other sites that you should check out include the Bucks' (www.dananddave.com - watch some of the trailers/videos on their site and let your eyes bleed a little bit, then go order their new dvd), and http://www.mredux.tk - my friend Kevin, whose flourishing, well, just go check his videos out and be your own judge. It also fits your criteria of having "tutorials" which he's generously provided as well. CLJ

As of right now, I'm trying to learn the basic Z Grip. Its kinda weird to do in my hands (asian hands = small) but day by day it works. From there on, I'm going to try and learn that blind sybil rotation. That looks crazy.
