He does the Four Queens trick from Expert with some embelishments. The Routine he performs on the X-Files is only a tiny sequence of his complete routine for the cups and balls. If you would like to see this episode it is included on the 7th season DVD set of the X-Files. Sometimes you can come across copies of 52 Assistants at magic conventions or in Magic Club video Libraries.

Ricky Jay also performed the Queen's Sourie using the Erdnase based patter on an early Doug Henning Special.

Hello,
My name is JimmyL, and I am an amateur magician and collector. I have been a member of this forum since 2005, but have somehow not posted an introductory post before. I have recently been collecting books, etc. by Ricky Jay including "Journal of Anomalies" and "Dice, Deception, Fate and Rotten Luck." I knew of the HBO special, "Ricky Jan and His 52 Assistants" and have tried unsuccessfully to find a DVD of this show. Reading this thread, today, for the first time, I am made aware that this has not been officially released. If anyone has any information on how to find one of these, or can make a copy for me, would you please PM me? I have been looking all over the net, not aware (until today) that this is not available unless I can find a copy. I would like very much to find a copy, any copy, if available; or any updated information on how to get a copy. Thank you, JimmyL

Hello,
Just this morning it appears that there has been a DVD made available. I have purchased this and hope that it turns out to be a good copy. I wanted to come back and say that I am no longer looking for a copy and thank you for your consideration. Regards, JimmyL

I know that this is an old topic, but, I just found out that this is available on YouTube.
Watching it, I think I see some vaguely familiar faces in the audience. For example, there's one woman who looks like Marion Ross, who played Richie's mom on Happy Days. There's also a guy who looks a bit like Michael Ammar, with what I think would be the right hairline for 1996. If it is, what other Vernon disciples or other magi might have been there? |

It's true there was no DVD of the show created for sale, but there was one created as a promotional video by HBO (to send to reviewers, perhaps?). These occasionally appear on eBay, where I bought one years ago.
