If you are talking the Ghost Card (A Burling Hull Invention) put out by SPS it is a winner.
It is a one-on-one effect. That is, really is strongest when only one person is thinking of a card. I just used it this past Halloween for walk around at an adult party. There are similar effects out there where you think of a card and it vanishes. And yes, the basic concept has been figured out due to some internet versions that allow someone to play it over and over. BUT what makes GC different is that both front and backs can be viewed. I have a friend who is a part time magician. He knows enough magic to figure out the principles of most effects I show him. BUT THIS ONE KNOCKED HIS SOCKS OFF. I repeated it 3 times and he could not figure out how it worked. It is easy to do, has one move that is bold but not hard and should be practiced. It is not a slieght but a move. The move works standing or sitting but easier to do when sitting. ALthough in testing, with that friend, doing it standing still did not let him catch on. It is one of those moves that are so open that you might think some will catch you but so far I have not had any problems doing it. Misdirection with a joker card is provided to cover it. I also like the fact that you place each card on their palm as you turn it over. While you can not let them examine the cards, it all is very fair as you turn over each card (see the back then the face.) They are left staring at the face of each card trying to find their card but no, they thought of the ghost card and their's has vanished. You can order an ungimmicked set if you want to do a remove-in-after-thought move so they can look at the cards. I found the set I had does not quite match the finish of the magic version. The ungimmicked ones seemed to be a lesser quality. I never use the extra cards. No one ever asked to see them yet. |

Hmm I was referring to Ghost Card by Roman Coppola sold at hocus-pocus.
Effect: This effect will send chills up the spine of any spectator! The magician has the spectator choose a card. Then once the card has been selected, the magician pulls out a piece of glass or walks up to a television screen, window, etc. He then asks the spectator to blow on the glass. Once the spectator does so, a ghostly image of their chosen card mysteriously appears on the glass! This is a temporary method for transfering an image of a card to any non-porous surface. The kit comes complete with everything needed to perform! This effect will work on TVs, car windows, and anything else that has a shiny, non-porous surface, so get creative and spook 'em out for real today! Anyone can give a review on this? Thx a lot. |

Oh I see. It is pretty much self explainitory and tells you what is going on in the ad. You get a kit that allows you to imprint the card most likely it will need to be done PRE SHOW so as not be seen. Then it is all build up and in the presentation as they say.
Why not be the first to review it. Unless the fluid is a dud, I do not see how you could go wrong. Here is my take on the concept. If you ahve to point to a certain spot and tell them "go breath on that pane of glass. No not that pane sir the other one." It will ruin the effect. Or if you wind up saying "Whisper your card on the tv screen. Not there but hear, again it is the same issue. " Thus why it would be interesting if they suggestions on how to guide them to the spot without telegraphing it. Then it would be a novelty not spooky. |
