Also - I have started keeping the watch in my closeup case and not wearing it out all the time in an effort to reduce the "mileage" on it.
(I only wear it during gigs) |

I always wear it....why? Well it's one of those awsome effects that you can do on the spur of the moment when someone asks you to prove your magic powers, wearing the watch all the time and using it as your everyday timepiece somehow gives more validity to the performance. I think it's because I am so used to the watch as an everyday object as opposed to a piece of magical apparatus that this comfort level then transcends into the performance and the watch does not come off as the odd ball.....
If the watch broke I would buy a new one, it's that good as far as I am concerned. I look at it like this, I am a professional, these are the tools of my trade and they are all tax right off's....that means the tax man gets to buy me a new watch, can't be a bad deal right Matt J. |

Cool link, but I think a watch which you can set down on the table would be more impressive than one which you have to hold in your hand.
Everybody wants to beleive.....we just help them along.

As for holding it in your hand, you are free to put the thing down...you know, after a certain amount of time. This is no different than the other watches currently on the market. So far as I am aware, the only watch you can reliably leave on the table the entire time is the original Perfect Time. John LeBlanc |

For anyone keeping track of this thread, I posted last week an in-depth comparison between Watch & Wear and The Time Machine -- including side by side pictures of both the faces and the insides of the watches:

I now have a replacement Master's Time Machine from Magic Makers with a lifetime guarentee. This one is better as the watch starts at an angle and ends up straight if you know what I mean.
I have a w & w and it needs a shake to get it going ! No the batteries don't need replacing.

Thanks Candini, I only found this thread thanks to your recent post.
I've had a MTM for around 4 months and use it a lot (so far without problems). Like most others here if I'd had known it was a rip off then I wouldn't have touched it. Does anybody know a way of avoiding this?
It's times like this I wish I'd listened to what my Grandad used to say...

I recently bought two "magic" watches on Ebay. The items listed were the wrist and pocket "Mentalist Magic Geneva Prediction Wrist & Pocket Watch" The seller is called "Nicastuffa" but the ONLY thing magic about these two cheap battery powered watches is that 90 bucks of my money is gone. This person also said that they would refund my money when I called them on it. They did not. The name and address on the box is Elign Virga 1276 HBD wantagh NY 11793 Their Email is "elaine paris [niceastuffa@gmail.com]"
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON!!!!! THEY SELL OTHER TRICKS BUT ARE VERY DISHONEST! They said they would refund if I returned the watches but all they wanted was + feedback. I knew I was getting shafted but did so anyway. No refund as promised (they said they would do so before I shipped items). I am including a video soon on my site with this information and such. These watches again ARE JUST REGULAR CHEAP battery op watches. Please tell as many others about this as you can!!!! Here is a copy of their last email to me -----Original Message----- From: elaine paris [mailto:niceastuffa@gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, January 19, 2008 11:14 AM To: evilstalkerhorne1@mchsi.com Subject: Re: You've received an answer to your question about item Mentalist Magic Geneva Prediction Wrist & Pocket Watch First let me say this about your last email. We have more of these watches we sell them all the time. So your watches will eventually be resold when we get them back. If you want to hold the watches till I give you the refund then that is no problem, I will take a leap of faith on that to show you that I believe you. So you will leave positive feedback, I will refund your paypal account and you will send the watches back insured priority is that fair. That is as far as I will go on this so that we are both taking a chance on this. let me know I want to wrap this up today thanks and best regards. |

I hate this effect. It's like the flaming wallet, people just say that it must be a trick watch. I sold mine after just two months.

I am bringing this thread up to ask a question...
What is the best Time Machine type watch? Is "Watch and Wear" worth the money? Thanks For Your Time, Bernardo Rodriguez |

For those visiting this thread after all this time, in case Time Machine pops back up on the market - mine is dead and hasn't worked in quite a while. The notion that it would die from normal operation over time is outrageous, imho.
