I have just finished doing a workshop on sideshow skills at the Inner Circle of Bizarre Magic in Conneticut. I was very happy with the way it went.
Even though it lasted five hours, the session was too short to completely cover all the material. I am thinking about doing a weekend session around the country. This would start with a Friday night cocktail party were the participants will get to know each other and I would do my act to show them what this material looks liked when performed. We would then work all day Saturday and Sunday learning fire eating, sword swallowing, bed of nail, broken bottle walk, blockhead act, animal trap and more. It probably cost around $200 with all materials included in the fee. I am looking at doing it in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston and Washington DC. If you want to know how the ICBM session went, go over to the bizarre magic forum and you will see some comments from the particpants. So this is what I'm thinking of doing, if there is interest. What do you all think? |

I think it's a great idea! I visited Coney Island over the summer and talked to a student there before seeing the show. I want desperately to take some classes, but can't really get the time off of work AND afford the trip. I live in MN, so I might actually be able to make to a Chicago workshop!

Dear Todd,
I had a conflict or I would have made it to ICBM. If you do a weekend workshop in Boston I would definitely attend. Yours, Paul |

I was there for the ICBM workshop and I would attend another. You are an excellent teacher and the course content was great. I was inspired to perform effects that I had previously not considered. I am now working at making the newly aquired skills fit into my shows. Some fita and some don't (yet).
Thanks Todd. Viano |

How about anywhere near Omaha?
I know that Chicago is physically closer to Omaha than say Denver, but Iowa is just a terribly long drive becuase of the low speed limit. |

Todd, I have a connection to a nice performance space in the DC-area that you could probably use.

The PA license plate that I made says http://www.visitpa.com, but I didn't know that we were allowed to customize them...
Chris P.S.--Todd, I hope that the run is still going well. |

Heh heh... no I mean the old plates from the late 80 to early nineties... They changed it from "The Keystone State" to "You Always have a Friend in Pennsylvania", then they went the way of the infernalnet.
