I saw this on tv. This guy was dealing cards on the table (or seemingly to be doing so), and as he deals the cards, the cards disappear. Anyone knows what this is called? And issit a gimmick?

I've seen this as well, I have looked at it closely and I can just see he's (if I'm right) just using slieght of hand. I don't believe he's using a gimmick.

I believe what you are talking about is Lennart Green's Snap Deal. You can find it in one of his books or the manual for this one effect by itself. On WGM he did it with a laser sitting down on the table. Truely visual. No gimmicks. Hope this helps.

This is indeed Lennart Green's "Snap Deal". The booklet teaches the technique and the routine. It is also available on his "Green Magic" videos, volume 1.

I think it is a little bit angle-sensitive, but I am not sure.

Good luck if you decide to learn this one. It is quite hard. I gave up on it for now.

If you want to spend three...thousand hours learning it then take a shot, dont get me wrong it is quite impressive but it is not essential, think about it there are not a lot of routines where you would use it ,and just for the record THIS IS VERY ANGLE SENSITIVE!
