Your probably wondering why I am writing a review on two effects together so I'll explain that first. My handling led me to have the two flow together and I think they do so wonderfully.
I start with the beads for NaNa's in the case with the Key. I remove the two velvet cords and place them on the table and then remove the case and dump the beads. This also displays the key which I just simply push back into the case and remark that it is my house key. I openly place this on the table. This introduces the key and no heat is on it. I then display the velvet cords and have them examined as per instructions. I next remove "my" ring and do a standard ring on rope that vanishes and reappears back on my finger as I explain the impossibility of solid thru solid. This then leads me into NaNa's Necklace. A easy but very strong effect where the beads just seem to melt off the velvet cords. I then gather up the beads as if I'm putting them away into my key case. This displays the key again. I then appear to have a second thought (Those that have Just in Case now know I just accomplished something) and place the case back on the table next to the beads and ask to borrow a ring from one of them. I then have two spectators participate in holding one of the velvet cords and I remove a hankerchief from my pocket and cover the string. I display the ring once again very openly and I then go under the cloth where I do the work. I give a slight tug on the Key before the reveal and say "Ok, there I did it" and whisk away the hankerchief. There the key is displayed in the middle. I appear stunned and mutter how the heck and let that sink in a moment or two. I then end with the reveal of the ring inside the case. That is the routine I used with only having both a very very short time. I did this for the first time earlier this evening to my wife and daughter. The wife is my toughest and most honest critic. To say they were fooled just doesn't seem to be the right word for thier expressions. I rarely see this expression from my wife. I knew she enjoyed Nana's Necklace by her slight chuckle and immediate look towards my hands to see if I hid or did something but the look when the key was resting in the middle of the velvet cords was priceless. She just stared at it in awe and seemed to forget all about her ring for few moments. I then directed her attention to the key case on the table , opened and turned it upside down displaying ring hanging where the key was. As I removed it she just kinda stared at me and said "THAT WAS GOOD!" Rarely do I hear her say that. The last time I heard them words were when I performed Dean's Box and Stuck in Time. These two effects are absoultely a joy to perform. NaNa's Necklace is super easy and a real fooler. The props supplied are very nicely made and the velvet cords are beautiful. Just in Case I found very easy to perform also. Of course studying this art for over 20yrs helps but I think the average magi can have this down pat in a short time also. Beginners will need a little extra time feeling comfortable with the props and handling them. There is built in misdirection if you use your patter and reason your moves logically. These are two very powerful routines that can easily stretch to 10 mins of pure entertainment , wonder, and mystery. There was only one glitch with Just In Case and this happens in all gimmicks that are hand made. The clasp on purchase didn't seem to be pressed properly and broke. I was able to fix it temporaily and even perform with it. One quick PM to Pete Biro who quickly responded asking me for my mailing address and will ship a new one out to me Pronto. There was some talk I heard about customer service in the past. Well, you have no worries with Pete Biro and Joe Porper. Oh and Dean Dill ships faster then Santa. He must of supercharged Rudolph. With all sincerity, I thank Pete Biro, Joe Porper and Dean Dill for putting out such wonderful effects. I'm more than pleased with these items and look forward to thier next releases. I did my homework before purchasing these effects as you will see by the many questions I had in other forums. I only wished now I purchased sooner than I did. Put these items at the top of your xmas lists. You will be very happy with them. RandyM |

One other note, there was some talk about the Key on another forum. This key looks just like my house key , in fact my wife still thinks that what it was. She even handled it and paid it no mind.

Since the key for this effect looks like nothing we know in Holland (maybe in europe)I really hope Pete will bring out another type as well!

LeFay... find some keys and send them to us. We will make whatever is necessary. We can make ANYTHING. Uh, let me correct that ... Joe Porper can make anything. I just sit and watch him in awe.
Send keys to Pete Biro, 428 N. Las Palmas Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90004, USA. Note: We need some "lines or design" in the key if you know what I mean.
STAY TOONED... @ www.pete-biro.com

That is funny. It must be cool to watch Joe making some of these stuff. I think that is the coolest part is watching something straight from the drawing board to reality. It is amazing and then actually watching it performed. Very cool.
Pete try not to droll on the stuff.. :O) Michael
