Any news around this? I'm interested, why don't you at least demo it on a movie so we can see what it looks like?

I think from the level of response you've gotten here, it's safe to say that you should definitely market the effect.... and when you do, I'll buy one.

This does sound too good to be true.
On the subject, check out Kenton Knepper's packet readings in his An Enchanted Evening book. An excellent presentation which sounds like it can be even cleaner with your method. Regards, David. |

Hello folks.
I've received many e-mails on my project. Having read a lot of descriptions of the "next greatest thing" lately, (particularly at this site) I want to make sure I'm not deceiving anyone. I find it interesting how everyone, myself included, is drawn to old effects done with new methods; methods we as magicians can't figure out-as if that makes it a better effect. I recently bought and was very pleased with an effect called "Dice Man." Very, very similar in effect to my 8-card brainwave, (almost identical) very different in method. My method, although in some ways cleaner, (the cards can be examined with a microscope) has its own drawbacks. It can't be done impromtu like Diceman, and it can't be done everywhere. Any surface-yes. Anywhere-no. In the right time and place, it's flawless(exactly like my initial description) and will fry everyone including magicians. The machining behind this is pretty heavy duty stuff. Not the kind of things you'd normally associate with card magic. That's why this method hasn't been seen before.(probably thought of though, just not produced) I don't want to sell a manuscript. So hang in there and let me do what I've got to do. In the mean-time, I highly recommend Dice Man. Pick it up. It's clean, easy, and essentially the same effect as mine. With just a bit more effort and overhead, the Diceman method (actually it's a very old method used in a very practical way) could be taken one step further to make it the perfect, worry-free, impromptu piece of mentalism. Thanks for all your interest.

I don't mean to diminish Platt's interesting discovery, but Daryl has a version in some lecture notes where you end clean.
