Price: £14.99 Difficulty: 2 out of 5...no sleights but a bit of construction skill handling practice will be in order. They say: Imagine being able to take a regular deck of cards and having a spectator cut anywhere in the deck, they place three cards in three different pockets and recase the deck, making sure that everything is secure before you turn around, yet you are able to tell them what cards they have and in which pocket. Glimpse is a fantastic utlity item that has many applications, another routine that Marc Spelmann has included is Wink Murder, four silver coins and one copper coin are dropped into your card case and mixed around, five spectators each take a single coin, the one who has the copper coin will be the muderer, you without questions or double talk are able to locate the murderer in your best psychic detective role. This is a great routine for initmate cabaret and around the tables, it envolves five people and has an edgy feel to it. Glimpse comes with three other routines which are: Close Up Psychometry - Divine which object belongs to which person. ESP Divination - Divine which ESP symbol your spectator is thinking of. Close Up Drawing Duplication - The title says it all. Marc floored everyone at Mindvention in Las Vegas with Glimpse, I say: Nice!!!!.... This is a TOOL...On that you must be clear. You get instructions and some tidy little routine outlines and some bits to get you rolling but it is a mentalism tool first and foremost. This is typical Spelmann ingenuity. Simple, direct, inexpensive and able to serve you well in all number of occasions. I can't imagine not using this! Overall: Fantastic...well flippin' done Marc! We're ***ed lucky Mr. Spelmann is sharing this treasure at all! You will need a totally brand new spare deck of Bikes...I mean TOTALLY new...I'll say no more on that aspect... You will also need some basic skills at contructing a gimmick but it is no brain surgery. 10 mins should see it done and that will get quicker with practice. Then you will be armed with "Glimpses" that will serve you for a long time to come! (They should each last a good long while) Rating: 9 out of 10 PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS AND JUST SEND IT TO FRIENDS...BE FAIR AND SUPPORT TALENTED ARTISTS LIKE MARC SPELMAN IN THEIR HONEST EFFORTS BY BUYING THEIR QUALITY PRODUCTS AT A FAIR PRICE...IT'S THE LEAST WE CAN DO!

I know I'm digging this one out of the archives a bit, but no one responded to this ?
Any other reviews out there ? If Tom likes it this much, I'm sure it's as good as he says, but it's weird to find no replies to this. Tom, could this apply to Tarot cards as well ? (or is size somehow a restriction?)
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.

You really need to use card that is more or less poker size.

Hi,
I don't agree with you Tom. Why can't you use any deck of cards (even Jumbo cards)? Per |

Mystician, I will answer your question as soon as I get a feedback from Tom. I own the trick and I can't see why it can't be done with tarot cards as well. I assume that tarot cards do have a card case also (this is important)?

Tom, great review, and I couldn't agree more. One of the best tools for card magic, that is almost perfectly designed to go hand in hand with the BCS - takes the already phenomenal system to miracle status.
I have yet to try it with anything other than cards, but I think for that alone it is well worth it. Well done Marc! HogK, you probably could make up a set with Jumbo cards, or another brand if necessary, but the instructions are designed for a bicycle deck. Simon |

This is a fabulous utility tool for mentalism!
it has so many uses and as pointed out above, it is perfect for any stacked deck. I imagine this could be adapted to a torot card box and even a jumbo card box...I will have to try. Every mentalist should stock up on the tools of the trade, this is a clever piece of equipment that you should own if you wish to improve your performances by being creative. althugh there are a few routines described, it is not hard to see the many possibilities for this gimmick. it is deffinatly worth the money. Hi,
Yes Simon that is true, but it is very easy to make on your own different sized deck. Per |

Is "Glimpse" a lot more workable than "The Invisible Eye"?
|
HogK New user Denmark 75 Posts |
Hi,
I don't have invisible eye, but judging from the describtion it is another principle. The Glimpse is perfect for tricks like: the spectator chooses any card and returns it to the deck (if it ever left the pack) the magician then puts it back (without turning the deck face-up or other bold moves) in the card box and down in his pocket (or wherever). Then the magicians reads the spectators thought and reveal the card. Per |

Glimpse is one of the best things I've bought in a long, long time. Will certainly be using this all the time.

With Glimpse, you can handle the card case freely but you also have to hold it to "glimpse", while with the Invisible Eye you just need you put the card case aside on the table and you will have your third "eye" ready. Which one I like? I'll say I like Glimpse's flexibility and the Eye's low-profile nature. Which one is better? You decide |

I believe it is a stand alone effect. Check out Hocus-Pocus or magicwarehouse I believe I saw it at both sites.

Just wondering but could anyone PM me or post here without giving up the method on how this is different than say Richardson's Double Peek box?(it can be shown to have no openings and yet still either side can be peeked).
with glimpse does it matter which way the put the deck in, or is it somehow more examinable than Richardson's? just wondering because they accomplish same purpose and not sure if they are nearly the same. |
