Hello everyone. This is the first forum I've joined on any subject so this is a new experience to me. You guys seemed a nice bunch so I thought I'd jump in and join you all.
A brief piece of my history (sorry to bore you). I used to play around with magic when I was about 10 years old. It was hard to get hold of decent info and tricks where I lived in those days, so magic as a hobby faded away. My interest has been brought to life again with the help of my nephew (he's under 10). He knew nothing of magic until I took him and his younger brother out to KFC one day. They were being rather wild so I tried to think of a way to entertain them. On the table was three cups. My mind sparkled. I grabbed the cups, rolled up some napkins and did an impromptu cup and ball routine. They were astounded, as were the two men on the table next to me. This grabbed my elder nephew's interest and my own (again). I'm back on the learning curve now, pretty much starting at the bottom. I've just bought a couple of Richard Kaufman videos ("On the Pass" and "Basic Card Technique") to get me going. I must say that these videos are excellent. Enough rambling for now!!!! Nice to be here, and I looked forward to many a conversation with you all. |

Welcome Friend Beetroot!
Once bitten by the magic bug, even if time makes it seem that you have forgotten and been "healed", it is only a metter of time until the "infection" recurrs. Glad to have you back at it! And you have indeed made a wise choice for your first magic forum. There is much knowledge here, and it is served with humility and respect. I think you will like it here. And we are happy that you have joined us. BroDavid

Welcome to the Magic Cafe! Mya
There is nothing that remains so constant as change. Don't end up like concrete, all mixed up and permanently set.

Well met Beetroot,
Believe it or not, I have yet to summon the necessary courage to perform the Cups and Balls in public.

Welcome aboard, Beetroot.
From personal experience I can tell you that being bitten by the magic bug TWICE is definitely permanent! It may be our ruin -- but could you think of a better way to go? |

Beetroot,
I'd give you some coffee, but Tora already dispensed half of Istanbul's liquid chronic on his last post here. Cheers, Ron |
