It is a great DVD and I have it and have used it many times. He covers off on new techniques with coins, cards and billard balls. I really like his easy to perform miser dream ideas he presents. I can go into more detail as to what exactly he covers if you would like. Just let me know.

He does not overlap much at all as I have all of jeff's dvds and videos. These are new concepts and ideas that is certainly worth getting. I bought it at his lecture and thought it was outstanding and use his miser dream sequence ideas a lot in my own show. It is a good investment.

Magic4u02: Are you sure you are referring to his Manip w/o tear video and not his Stage manipulation videos? The state manip videos are the best and I will have to buy the dvds simply I have almost worn out the tapes. the Manipulation Without Tears was very brief and taught just a few sleights, the idea being to give somebody confidence. I did not remember any ball manipulation on that dvd.

Yes, I am certain. He did a lecture at SAM nationals and offered the DVD for sale. I have it and watched it just last week. Now the DVD does not have nearly as many slieghts or moves on it as the tapes or other volumes he has out, BUT, anything from Jeff is worth having.
I enjoyed this DVD and learned a lot from it. He has a great section in there about the misers dream and various ways you can get into it and perform it. Kyle

Thanks-i will pop that baby backinthe player and watch it again. The mcbluff production of cards does work-I did it at a recent Christmas party where I was table hopping and just ahppened to be at the right angle -backto the wall, no one to my left or behind, etc.

Manipulations Without Tears is meant to be a way to get into doing manips if you don't already practice them. There are lots of great ideas for both beginners and pros. And, as always, I found Jeff's enthusiasm for good magic inspiring!

"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

The DVD is great. It also gives you a more recent picture into Jeff's life (the manipulations dvd's are from the last millenium!), as well as a sneak peek into his workplace.
I especially was grateful for his tipping of the giant fan production. He used them in the in-between bits of other videos and I always wondered how he did them. Jeff is a great teacher, I am about 2/3 of the way to a complete collection of his videos =) maurice |
