Hello All,
I have come across a very good website. First of all, do you have friends, relatives etc. in different countries you’re dying to talk too but you can only call them once or twice in a long while because of the phone bill? Or you chat over the internet but it’s not the same as hearing they’re real voice? Well I have a solution. It’s called “Skypes” it’s a programme where you download it and you can talk to other people all across the world for FREE. All they have to do is download skypes. You don’t have to give credit card details, where you live or even your last name unless you choose too. But you can also ring there home phone via the internet for a very low cost. For example: I live in Australia and I use “Euro money” so its like 17 cents for 15 minutes which is really cheap. Then you do have to give some details. All you need is a microphone and speakers. It’s that simple. I have used it with a couple of people from the magic café and they thinks its worth downloading. The reason why I put this post is because my brother is going to London for 6 months in April and it will be very expensive to talk to him occasionally so my Dr gave us the suggestion (he uses it to talk to his secutary in the other room, LOL) and now when he leaves we can talk over the net for free. Also if you have a webcam they can also see you while you talk and vice versa. And I tought other people might have friend who they’d love to talk too. I recommend it: http://www.skype.om If anyone does happen to download it could you PM me and I’ll add you to my contact list or if you have any other questions Cheers, Pretty lady (PL) |

You aren't using the full potential of any of the "Messengers" then! Me and my friend talk all the time on it cost...Free. Go to your Messenger (I use MSN) and check out the voice connection..you need a Mic ..its better to get a headset and then there is no feedback of your own voice from your freinds speakers...it can be quite eerie hearing yourself speaking but delayed by a few seconds !Oh, and you can of course see them as well if you have a webcam connected. My sister and I were able to connect using webcams and mics, first on AOL, which didn't pan out so well, and then on Yahoo. Kind of looks and sounds like you're getting transmission from the space station.

I've used that before. Works better than the mics. in my opinion. I love it.

One of my friends in Greece turned me on to Skype and we've chatted several times. Minnesota to Athens... free. It's VOIP and it's pretty cool if you use a headset, but not if you use speakers because it's full duplex and you hear your own voice echoing back two second later. A Radio Shack headset solves that problem and makes it a wonderful service!

It more like I just found a message in a bottle and it was caked with about 3 years of gunk!
Sorry But the thing about live chat and video has been going on for a while and there are many programs to do this. I had my first live chat in the early 90's using an amiga and compuserve, Is was all abit nasty in those days but it worked. The mic input was a home made device and about 6 of us used to try and chat with this setup. In those days ppl played a lot of MUD. These days you can have like 30 people on the same connection and with video if you have the connections and hardware. and with 3G you can network like 20 computers over a mobile phone connection.

Hey Prettylady - I use this program all the time and you're absolutely right - it rocks! Super clear sound even from vancouver bc to germany. People should take your word for it and check it out!

Anyone had a conference online ? It can be funny at times when the connection lags, a dude is trying to make a point end ends up the stutter master, cool!
The biggest vidconference I was on was held with 28 people from many places and was such a blast that we done it every monday. one dude done a moon for the rest of us and to see 20 or so people LOL is quite something.

I also use Skype and it is cool, me and some of friends all conference call while we are playing online games and its still really clear, so check it out. Its much better than using msn or similar for the same purpose in my opinion.
