As we all know the Fiery business card gimmick "Hot Leads" can not be examined because of the gimmick of course. I found that I can act as I do hand out the "HL" by simply making a swicth with your ordinary packet wallet. The whole trick serve as perfect misdiretion.
The business card is on fire which all the attenion is at. Then make the switch. No one know no one Cares! A little gag of mines. I give them the wallet(false) and say "You try, but don't have it to close to your face. As they do it the dissappoint of no fire is "priceless" give it a try! |

I don't think that's what hot leads are about.
I love hot leads, use them all the time. But I've never thought for one second that the client couldn't work out (by the smell of the gas alone)that I soaked it in gasoline and lit it somehow as I pulled it out. For me it's a bit of fun and a great excuse for handing out my bix card. Obviously I go on to do an effect with the card once it's out.

I use hot leads jus for an effective way to hand out a business card or to have a spectacular opener to intro that you are a magician. I don really bother with handing the wallet out for inspection
Anyway, its still a nice pt to do a switch and ask the spec to try. Cheerios

If you would like to kill the smell of the fluid...use a little cologne. Mix it together before you soak the cards.
Just a few drops. Jim

I use the hot leads all the time. And have never had anyone ask to check it out. It is just a cool effect and gets you shows because of it.

I just purchased Hot Leads and love it. Proud to say I supported my local magic shop! Jim Pace - If you are out there....Have you ever considered some sort of "false back" on the unit so it looked a bit more normal from the back? It would be nice to be able to casually flip the wallet over, with the gimmick obviously pointing toward you. This would allow a subtle reinforcement of the wallet's normalcy. I have modified mine to accomplish this. Mike.

I will leave that to the smart ones. Keep up the creative thinking.

Yeah I have also had this problem and no I not leaving it on for extended peiods (3 or 4 seconds)! I only have it on for a split second when it is lit I let it go straight away.
Another problem that is starting to worry me is that the wallet has started to 'bend' on the side with the ignition source and doesn't sit flat anymore, any tips for that anyone? cheers, daz |

I like the cologne idea. Quite a few (men) I hand the card to smell it.
I find it quite amusing and when I see them thinking about say: "Go on, you know you want to" And when they do: "Ah, there's the good stuff" George |

That's funny George. I'm going to have to go around following you from thread to thread to pick up some more tips.
