Here is on that I like. To show that there is really nothing up your sleeve.
Here is what I do. Before you start, write out the Word Nothing on a peice of Cardboard paper, and put it up your sleeve. When you start, tell the Audience that since you are a magician, people think that there are things up your sleeve. Then tell them that there is nothing up your sleeve. Then swear to it. All you then have to do, and reach in your sleeve, and pull out the Cardboard that has the Word Nothing written on it. Everytime I do it, I always get a laugh. |

I have a false sleeve I use. I just unbutton the cuff and pull it out of my jacket sleeve and use the same line. Then throw the sleeve in the case and get on with the act.

I am the ONLY magician "IN THE WHOLE WORLD" who admit he has something in his sleeves. I usually put my arms inside !

David Roth, I believe has an interesting close up routine with just the sleeve of a jacket.
Check it out if you are a coin worker. Of course the idea could be worked into use with other props. Harris

Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

Thanks blsorg. I "borrowed" it from my Grandfather. He had some great gags for clothing magic. Ties, pants, sleeves, shoes, etc. I have lots of fun with them.

As a right hand amputee, I say 'Nothing up my sleeve," look at where my hand used to be and do a doubletake.
People love to laugh at cripples.

I remember a gag item put out a long time ago which was a sleeve you wore under your regular sleeve that had cards printed on them. You say that most people think you have cards up your sleeve, and they are right. So let me get rid of these (pull out sleeve) and lets get on with the show.

Parson,
I do a trick where I remove my ring finger. It gets a great reaction. I know of 2 other magicians who both do that trick and are missing the end of that finger (from accidents). Then they throw the "finger" tip away and look at the result. Oops. The kids they perform for (one is a clown) actually enjoy it. Gets a laugh. I don't think people like to laugh at cripples but your gag is cute. Don, If I can get enough material together I would love to write a book. The problem with gags is I can't tell jokes when I'm wearing one (gag). Do you really think people would be interested in such a book? Might be a fun project. Thanks, - Brian

People often think I have bunches of card up my sleeve or something, and there right, so let me just empty this out (pour cards out sleeve).
