Hey Everyone. I'm very pleased to announce a large update to the iPhone app "Ghost Card." This is the app that allows you to take a photo prediction of a spectator holding a playing card which can then later be revealed to be any card you want. The spectator has a free choice, the card can be held up to the camera (doesn't need to be on a table or held at a certain angle), and the reveal can be any card of your choosing (images are from a standard bicycle deck).
In the Appstore: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ghost-card/id612048916?mt=8 Here's the original demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4VwUfF7wMI This update has been a long process and and includes many improvements: - First and foremost, the app works a heck of a lot faster and is more accurate "seeing" the card in the photo. It's a very noticeable improvement over the original. - A bunch of processes have been automated. You use to have to do a few extra things to get a good photo, but now it's just point, hold for a second, and shoot. - The app now works with ANY card. You use to have to take a photo of a gaff card (so a card force was required), but now the spectator can choose any card and the app will do it's thing with that card. - iPhone X (notch) support. Being able to use any playing card was the major goal for this update. Specifically to allow the spectator to select any card (unseen), to hold it anywhere at any angle up to the camera, to then take a photo of that card (and the spectator), and later make the reveal with an inspectable photo. I'd say that we got to about 94% of what we set out of achieve. The app has a lot of work to do and most of the time the result is pretty darn good. Every now and then if you zoom in on the final image an edge looks a little funny or a bit of the original card shows through. Once you play with the app a bit you can figure out how to give the app the best possible chance for a flawless final image. The final reveal will pass inspection most of time, but they may not all be social media worthy where folks can zoom in and have a good close look. An example of what the app can do is attached. The photo shows a 5 of diamonds, however the photo taken was NOT of a 5 of diamonds, it was some other random card. (this photo was used during the "routine ideas" video which is linked below). You still have the option to use a gaff card, which will give you the best result for a final outcome. Those images will be more social media worthy. Here's a video of some full routines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWfa73QI9Yc The magician you'll see in the video is Lochlan. He doesn't actually own an iPhone and so I gave him a 5 minute refresher on the app and we went out and shot some footage. I purposefully included the entire routine start to finish so that you can get an idea of the time it takes (not much) to use the app. I don't show you what is happening on the app, but you can pick out the moment that Lochlan "does something" so you can see that it's not a big deal. With the exception of the first spectator (he had a deck of cards on his deck, so we used his), everyone was a random stranger we stopped in the street/office. If you already own the app and haven't used it in a while, go back and take another look at it, I think you'll be impressed with the update. If you are new to Ghost Card, have a look at the demo videos and feel free to ask me any questions. The price has been raised to $24.99, and in a couple weeks we will raise it again to $29.99. During this discount time, I ask that if you find a bug, please let me know and give me a chance to fix it. We had a good group of beta testers (thanks guys), and I think we caught everything but I wouldn't not be surprised if something snuck through. Feedback welcome, and App Store reviews are appreciated. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy version 2 of Ghost Card! Click here to view attached image. |

I really like this now that you don’t have to use a blank card. Recommended!
