Very sad to announce that our friend Gary Lee Meador, better known as Gary Darwin passed peacefully from this world at 9:40 pm tonight. He was at home surrounded by loved ones, his books, and his magic museum. This is exactly the way he wanted to go. He did it his way. A full obituary and further details will be forthcoming. |

So sad. What a great guy and a force for magic in Las Vegas. RIP Gary. My condolences to his family and those who were close to him from our community.

Gary Darwin was a classic - I used to show his "My first Magic DVD" to students when I teach elementary school and his work on thumb tip magic is always my FIRST go to. Awesome guy.

We've lost too many, too recently. Gary was certainly one of the greats and the magic world shines a little less brightly with his loss.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.

How unfortunate. He was a good man with a wealth of information. He had a dry sense of humor but very funny. I enjoyed talking to him and hearing his abundant ideas on topics not even related to magic.

Very sad. As a newbie I just purchased his Encyclopedia of Thumb Tip Magic (my first DVD/video purchase of magic ever). I watched the entire set last night from beginning to end and was considering dropping Master Darwin a brief thanks. Sad that I can't.
Requiescat I'm pacem.
