Brace yourself. We just lost Don Wayne.

I can't find any detailed links as to how it happened, but perhaps something will show up in the next day or two.

Don was one of my best friends for over 40 years. He was also a brilliant builder, particularly of small gadgets and devices.
He could analyze the weak points of any routine and his suggestions improved many performer's acts.
He had worked at Mark Wilson's organzization when I first met him and he had the great opportunity to learn a bit from Alan Wakeling.
He went on to become David Copperfield's magical consultant and guided David on most of his major TV specials.
Extraordinarily generous with information and advice, he will be missed.

He had recently been hospitalized with bone fractures that led to a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma in it's advanced stages.
(That disease is difficult to detect in it's early stages and is asymptomatic until it is progressed.)
He was visited by many of his friends and associates while in the hospital and he passed away with family and friends present.

So sad to lose another of the great innovators.

Don will surely be missed in the magic world. It was a great honor working with him on a few things in the magic. He truly was a kind soul and a caring person. Sending love and prayers to his family.

I am deeply saddened by this news that I just found out today.

My only opportunity to talk to Mr Wayne was on a visit to Dean’s Shoppe in Glendale, California one Saturday morning many moons ago. He was getting a haircut. Fascinating guy. Rest In Peace good sir.
