Why did you even waste your time responding in that way?

Of course I went to Google first.

I only found "Monster Midway" and "Spook Crooks."

Searching for The Complete Works of Dr. Q just brings up some other books called "Becoming Dr. Q: My Journey from Migrant Farm Worker to Brain Surgeon" and I highly doubt that the book puplscrypt is referring to.

There is a book by Alexander called "The Life and Mysteries of the Celebrated Dr. Q" but I've never seen on called "The Completed Works of Dr. Q." Puplscrypt is the book you are referring to the "Life and Mysteries" book?

And as for searching "Carnival," well that certainly isn't a specific enough search string to pull up any relevant results. That's why I asked who the Author was. A subtitle would help also if there is one.

Yes, my mistake. I found the reprint on Amazon;

Sorry for any confusion.

Of course I went to Google first.

So you did know the authors of two of the books (really three). Why did you ask for all four? You've wasted his time because now he has to type two answers that you don't need.

Why didn't you fully explain yourself?
'I looked on Google and can only find the author of this and this, what are the other two?'
See, that's a complete fully communicated question; answers all questions that the answerer might have and doesn't waste anyone's time.

School is now out for the day.

Secrets of the Sideshows by Joe Nickell is a favorite of mine. Psychic Blues by Mark Edwards is similar and better than Lamar Keene. I’d group Derek DelGaudios Amoralman in with expose books.

More on the history side and excellent reads are,
The Wonders by John Woolf
American Oz by Michael Comerford
And my all time favorite magic book Hiding the Elephant by Jim Steinmeyer

Hiding the Elephant is the book that made me start studying magic again almost fifty years after I put it down. I'm a big fan of Nickell's book too. I'd also recommend Daniel P. Mannix's Memoir of a Sword Swallower.

The Woolf and the Comerford are both new to me, so I've just snatched the pair of them right up. Looking forward to both.
