Eddie's sponge props used to be available from The Cuckoo's Nest magic shoppe in Pittsburgh, but they are closed. For a while they were still selling remaining stock via their Facebook page , but it hasn't been updated since 2021. Anverdi-museum, when you you say: "Try Eddie Ace" does that mean that Eddie is currently making and selling his sponge items ? Is there a way to contact him to purchase his items ? Well, now, a little more searching reveals that Todd's Trick Store has Eddie Ace sponge bunnies listed for sale: https://toddstrickstore.com/product/eddi......rabbits/ There's a video - https://vimeo.com/511315680 I realize this has strayed off the path of topics for "The Workshop" , which is about how to make things yourself , rather than sources to purchase pre-made items, but it seemed to me that these photos and the video of Eddie Ace's sponge bunnies would be good research material for anyone attempting to make their own. Steve told me that he is working with an engineer to automate the process of making the sponge rabbits, as opposed to them being mostly handmade, as they used to be.
He said that it just wasn't cost effective to make them the way they were being produced.

I ordered Ace's Bunnies from Tod's trick shop. They arrived quickly and are really nice quality. I like the fact that the ears are smaller so they don't get ripped off easily which was a problem with the Goshman set. They are also a beautiful bright white which will show in the dimly lit restaurant I work in and just looks nicer than the yellow foam of the Goshman set.
They are expensive which for me is a plus. |
