You aren't going to believe it but this blind hog found another acorn! Smile

My new ASPs just arrived so I did what I have always done with new toys- I took them apart to see how they worked. And, in the words of Gomer Pyle, "Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!" You aren't going to believe what I found! You need to check this out- especially if you are a beginner learning to shim, etc.

Have fun!

Don,

Nope! I this is one company I'm not a dealer for. After this find maybe I should change that! Smile

Pastor Clyde I think you might want to look into it. Smile before they fix this flaw.

I doubt the manuacturer would see the ability to offset the double-lock via this method as a flaw, but they might want to reconsider their tolerances.

For those who like to pick their cuffs open, I modified the page to include those findings. So if you read it before 12:04 EST, you will want to visit the page again at:

I wonder if the locking module for that person's cuffs fell out because they weren't snapped into place. I can see where it would be easy to have it in but not snapped during the production process.

Just my 2 cents

Hello All,
Just a quick note here. I tried Clyde's method (as referenced in the above link) to undo the double lock through the keyhole with a slim shim. Presto, the double lock popped off, then, shimming was easy...This could be a great "opening an untampered with state of the art restraint in full view" presentation. Don't hesitate to take a look. Don,

You can use the same string technique for dealing the double-lock on the M-100. The string is harder to hide however.

Don,

String or thread- go to the picture in the link above. Use the same approach on the M-100s. I wouldn't use that approach if an officer was the one to secure me into the cuffs but for those on here who just like to have fun with cuffs, etc. it is a simple way to overcome the double-lock.

Opening the double-lock on a 'side slide' S&W with the keyholes sealed is pretty easy.
