It seems that Muddy is gone but...
I like the idea of having something in an old bottle. Rather than have it found in the water, it could be found under the sand. It simply washed up on shore. Maybe a letter that mentions a forced item such as a card. Maybe even an old playing card with the message. Couldn't something be rigged in the bottle so a flame and/or smoke shoots out when opened? How about having a piece of wood rise from the bottle and have a message or persons name carved into it? Any ideas with an old map in the bottle? Just some food for thought. |

Putting the "Watch Steal" method to a bikini top prop......Sounds interesting, but also VERY risky, lol.

That Bikini top thing is for South Beach...Oh I forgot...not too many Bikini Tops down there.
I have some cool old looking Spanish Daubloons that I plan on doing something with this summer. They only cost 24 cents each so it will be an inexpensive gag. They look totally real! The old coin in the message bottle trick or something????

Sand is very forgiving, and when something is dropped on it, ie. something small ( a coin) no sound will be heard. drop it, and push it in the sand with your feet.

I've got a bill routine that would fit the bill, (so to speak). It's called "I Hate Rules". To tell you the truth, I haven't worked it on the beach, the more I think of it, I may. It is a version of U.F. Grant's Million Dollar Mystery, but I've routined it to use 5 people and it takes up about 10 minutes.
On the beach it would be a 2 second set up. The set up would be just tear a bill in half and poke it in the sand and mark the spot so you can find it later. You could even use a small treasure map and have one of the spectators find the two halves for the finish. Basically you borrow 2 bills from two people then you tear them in half. You burn half of each of their bills making the other halves useless. Then when you the other halves are found in the sand, (in a bottle, under a hat, in a bikini top, under a towel, or wherever you loaded the "set up"), the 2 halves will match their bills. A very cool bill routine with an instant set up and 10 minutes worth of entertainment. Nothing to carry, except a dollar bill, and you use 5 people. You can check it out at my web site below, or drop me a PM with any questions. It is available as a manuscript, or on the Bonus CD which is a better deal, because you get the I Hate Rules manuscript, the Street Rope Trick manuscript and my lecture notes with 3 small video clips of the performance. Have fun on the beach and don't get burned. |

I would try some tricks with water. Burger's shot glass surprise for example.
