I am not really a close-up person but I
"came up" with an effect and I am wondering if it is original. Someone selects a card and returns it to the deck. I try to find it, after failing four times, I state, "Well I'm not very good at card tricks but I am pretty good with coins." I proceed to do the Scotch and Soda. After the coin disappears I point out a sealed deck of cards that has been on the table the entire time. I ask the person to break the seal and open the box. I have that person remove the deck from inside and I point out a space that is in between the cards. Finding it odd I ask them to remove the cards above the space, they find that the space was created by the "vanished" coin, I ask the person to turn over the card just below the coin and it is the same as the one I failed to find during the card trick. People go nuts over this trick because I never touch the sealed deck. My thinking is that it is not original with me but I thought I would ask anyhow. Thanks for your help

I used to do a trick like that, but the sealed deck is a very nice touch.

Thank you for the reply Sir Ichazod.
It just never screamed original for me. My suspicions were correct.

This is a similar idea to the video at
JBTV "Coin Unique [Video 1]" Check it out.. I agree with Ichazod about the sealed card box. That is a nice touch.. Here is the link if you would like to watch the video. [outdated link] Just scroll down to Coin Unique Video 1 and give it a click.. Later Tom

I haven't seen the scotch and soda concept done in that manner before, so according to my limited knowledge, its original. But there are already many sealed card box revelations, and vanished objects appearing in an impossible location effects.

I like that, a lot! Being the card and coin freak that I am. Very good trick. There seems to be a lot of prep work though, correct me if I'm wrong.

x-treem,
I'm sure each of the parts have been done before. But this is the first time I have ever heard of them being assembled in that manner. It sounds very good. Congratulations. |
