Can anyone identify this effect? Who created it and where can it be purchased?
The magician removes two matchboxes from a neat little presentation box that houses them both neatly. He places them end to end with their drawers protruding. As he pushes one drawer, the other moves further out. The next example of these magic matchboxes is that one box is placed on top of the other at right-angles. Again, the drawers move independently of eachother as one is pushed inside. Finally, they are placed one on top of the other, overlapping, and the same thing happens. I saw this performed at a Xmas party and was very impressed. I think I know the 'mechanism' but I would like a set for my own routine to break the cards monotony. Thanks px |

I think in the UK a version is sold by Alakazam called 'sympathetic matchboxes', I am sure it is on thier web site.

Thanks Sarge - but it wasn't the one. Harry H pointed me in the right direction and I've got it sorted. Appreciate the response folks. Another happy magic bunny!

Sounds like "Matchbox Mambo" by Danny Archer. I really like this trick-- good thinking.

Why not post the contact for others of us interested in this effect? I might be interested if not too expensive.
