I am a guitar playing, singer/songwriter. I played in a heavy metal band for over a decade. We got paid to perform, so I guess we were professionals, but we didn't get to where we wanted to be. I play acoustic guitar professionally now, mostly for restaraunts. I play in Churches also, traveling and performing with my family.
I sold my big Marshall stack. (JCM 800 series with two 4 x 12 cabinets, 1960A & 1960B) I kept my all my gutars however, and currently own 6; 4 electrics and 2 acoustics. I now use an old Fender Blackface Vibralux amp. Carrie Sue, you obviously have good taste in guitars. I want a Taylor 914CE. I hope that will be the next guitar I purchase. I can play bass guitar and drums, and harmonica a little also, but I don't consider myself good enough to be a bassist, drummer or harmonica...er..ist... I'm not even sure what they are called. Regan

I have been playing the drums as my primary instrument for the past 12 years. I played them a lot in high school, 4 years of concert and jazz bands, along with being captain of the drum line for 2 of those years. During and since then, I have played with blues, country, modern and classic rock bands, and probably some others that I can't remember. I toured with a country band up until the last year or so. I also play the guitar and bass.
It is pretty interesting that so many of us also play music, but I guess it's due to the fact that we are all performers. My Best, Allen

I am not a Musician but I played the Trombone in Jr/Senior High School and have played (or played with) the Guitar since the age of 4. I play most all of the Beatles songs and many songs of the 50's and 60's but I need to have the sheet music in front of me or else I tend to get lost.
I used to transpose my Beatle songs into bass clef in order to play it on the Trombone, sometimes I would transpose Trombone into Guitar so I could play Scott Joplin music and various other tunes that I found difficult to find written for Guitar. Iven

For years I played guitar professionally on stage and in the recording studio. In 1987 I had an automobile/truck accident that crushed two fingers of my left hand. Healing took about two years and things have never been the same. I still play some for my own enjoyment and I still have four guitars. Decisions, Decisions...

I have played guitar for the last 16 years but had lost interest in it a couple of years ago. I am getting my chops back together though.

I play keyboards (electronic piano, clavinova and Hammond B3) and have been for the last 46 years. I do solo gigs exclusively.
I'm not with the band...I am the band! Cheers!

I've been playing guitar since before the Beatles on Sullivan.
Tried to make it in the New York studios in the 70's. Became a cop because I needed a job with benefits. A little strange but it was'nt too bad at all. Continue to play guitar, bass and trying to teach myself keyboards/piano. Also play a little mandolin and percussion. Buy and sell guitars, etc. and basically keep on playing because it's cheaper than talking to someone from the couch. I know a lot of people that have varied interests in the arts. The older I get the more I run across. Take Care, Vincent |

Some have a hard time believing this because I'm deaf. But I wasn't always deaf. I use to be just Hard of Hearing.
I was very good at saxophone when I was a teen ager. Took 1st place in a couple of solo contests back then. I also played rythm guitar and bass in bands in the 80's (that didn't help my hearing either because I played classic rock and heavy metal.. ). I still play the guitar but not as well anymore. I can only play by memory now but I still pick it up from time to time. It's actually relaxing to me. When I play songs I remember I actually feel like I can hear it. It probably won't sound as good to those listening but to me it always sounds perfect.. Ron Jaxon |

Ex opera singer. Had I not run into vocal problems I would have sung all the great Verdi baritone roles: Rigoletto, MacBeth, Iago (Jago) in Otello... Ah, what might have been....

Well said Mr. Jaxon. Actually, Beethoven made his deafness known in 1801 (not sure exactly when he started having trouble with his hearing though...) and was totally deaf by 1818. Yet, he continued composing until he died in the year 1827.
