The best of the best are Owen rings from Owen Magic.

The Owens rings are absolutely awesome....but expensive. Owens also has the distinction of selling extra sngle rings, additional key rings, etc. This allows you to go a bit further and complex in designing the routine if you want to.

Absolutely get the Owen lightweight rings. (in fact unless you get 8 inch rings, I think the lightweight is all that Owen's sells).

You cannot go wrong on this one. You will love them.

Hi there, I agree with the Owens rings. I have played with many types but when I switched to the Owens rings my routine flowed better. The owens rings sound good and look great from the stage. Its worth the money for sure!

The routine of Shoot Ogawa (called Ninja Rings) is also quite good. His rings are a bit different of the average. You should look and compare...
He has made a DVD.

Where can I find a video of Owen's manipulation?

Owen isn't a manipulator, it is a magic manufacturing company. I've heard nothing but good comments on all of their products. I guess you get what you pay for!

I am suprised that no one has mentioned the Joe Porper rings.
Maybe the Owen ones are better?

Owens are the best around but very expensive!!

Proline make a great set but wont break the bank!! but are still much better quality than the average set of rings at dealers etc

Porper doesn't make full sets of rings. Just specialty sets, like the split ring, the Ghost Rings and the spinning ring. If you wanted a three ring set he would supply. He also makes a good a locking ring as I have ever seen (or used).

Do the Porper rings match any other set so that you could perform an eight ring routine?

$575 to $1200 it is really expensive!
I hope it is a good product for this price...

Another name that has been mentioned in other threads about the linking rings is Auke van Dokkum's. His products consistently get excellent reviews. I must admit that I have not seen the rings he produces, but they are sometimes referred to as being of a quality comparable to that of the Owen rings. His website is at:

Excellent link Tilman.

That reminds me this guy also produces the Richard Ross watches.

The lightest, best sounding, easiest to handle, and what maybe the least expensive, is Proline. I went through 8 different manufacturers, which I still have those sets downstairs. But till I picked up a set of Proline, I never went elsewhere. I have three sets, different sizes, I'm all set.

All mentioned are fine but it is the routine not the rings. Mer Taylor rings had a nice heavy feel and ring to them. Ring and Things rang out very nicely. Sud's rings were ok. Delben made some nice hollow rings.
I guess a better question is what is the routine and how you need to use them. With spectators or without, etc.
